Suppliers and commercial grades are shown in Table 4.10. Commercial grades are mostly blends with PS. Some types are fiber reinforced, or formulated as flame retardant. Most of the tradenames listed in Table 4.10 are available in different grades. Tradenames appearing in the references are shown in Table 4.11. 

The reader can find an almost endless supply of chemical and physical properties for hundreds of thousands of chemicals and tradename products on the Web. The easiest access to general information resources that contain health risk and some air transport properties are those sites which contain Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDSs). The following are a list of but a few sites worth exploring for chemical-specific information ... 

The TLCP used was a widely investigated one, Vectra A950, manufactured by Hoechst-Celanese. The PC was produced by Enichem under the tradename Sinvet 303. Table 3 lists the main properties of these materials according to the manufacturers. The materials were dried in a vacuum oven at 120°C for 4 h before processing. Prior to injection molding of the composite samples, two components were melt mixed by a ZSK, W P, Stuttgart, extruder with a constant weight ratio of PC-TLCP = 80 20 [23]. 

The European List of Notified Chemical Substances (ELINCS) is published pursuant to Commission Decision. It consists of all chemical substances notified within the European Community between 18/9/81 and 30/6/92. Each entry in the list corresponding to a chemical substance has an EEC number and dossier number, identification by tradename and/or chemical name, a classification and name... 

Bacillns thnringiensis (Bt) is a type of bacterium that kills certain harmful insects and is harmless to beneficial insects. The most common forms of Bt are sold under the tradenames DipeF , Thuricide and MVP . They are effective against the larva of butterflies and moths and may be used on a wide range of plants. They can be reapplied as plants grow within the limits listed on the labels. 

All listings are for toxins already mixed with DMSO on a 50/50 ratio. Dosages are expressed in milligrams of solution per kilogram of body weight (mg/kg) for topical application. All listings are tradenames. 

III. A chemical trademark section where each tradenamed raw material included in the book is listed with a chemical description and the supplier s name. The specifications which each raw material meets are included, if applicable. 

Within the family of cycloolefin co-polymers, the most important from a material properties standpoint, are the ethylene/norbornene co-polymers. These co-polymers, dubbed COC for cycloolefin co-polymers, are produced by Ticona and Mitsui under the tradenames Topas and Apel , respectively. An overview of properties and applications (for example, blisters for pills) can be found on Ticona s Topas homepage.607 Detailed ethylene/norbornene copolymerization studies with different 4/-symmetric and ansa-Cp-amido catalysts, with listing of co-polymerization parameters, have been published.608 611 NB is inserted exclusively in the cis-2,3-exo-modc (Scheme 25), and most of the metallocene catalysts tend to produce alternating co-polymers,609 612 due to the low reactivity of the M-NB intermediate toward further NB insertion. This mode of NB insertion prevents f3-H transfer, and thus ethylene/ norbornene co-polymers have increasing molecular masses at increasing NB content.611... 

Lists of both proposed and recommended INNs are sent together with a circular letter to WHO Member States (at present 193), to national pharmacopoeia commissions and to other bodies designated by member states. In this letter, the WHO requests that member states should take such steps as are necessary to prevent the acquisition of proprietary rights in the published names, including prohibiting registration of these names as tradenames. 

The designations listed for these synthetic multilayers are commercial tradenames from different instrament manufacturers. A more generic approach is to classify them according to their d spacing. 

Chlorinated polyether is sold under the tradename of Penton. It has a maximum operating temperature of 225°F (107°C). CPE is resistant to most acids and bases, oxidizing agents, and common solvents. It has the advantage of being able to resist acids at elevated temperatures. It is not resistant to nitric acid above 10% concentration. Refer to Table 2.38 for the compatibility of CPE with selected corrodents. Reference [1] provides a more comprehensive listing. 

The number of basic plastic materials is large, and the list is increasing. In addition, the number of variations and modifications to these plastic materials is also quite large. The methods by which these materials are processed, finished, and prepared for final use is also immense. Together, the resultant quantity of materials and processes available is just too large to be completely understood and correctly applied by anyone other than those whose day-to-day woric puts them in direct contact with a diverse selection of materials. The practice of mixing brand names, tradenames, and chemical names of various plastics only makes the problem of understanding these materials more troublesome.

Plastic materials included in the thermosetting plastic category and discussed separately in the following sections of this book include alkyds, diallyl phthlate, epoxies, melamines, phenolics, polyesters, silicones, and ureas. A list of typical tradenames and suppliers of the more common plastics is given in Table IN.l. 

Table 15.4 lists the three /i-paraffinic solvents sold by Exxon under the tradename of Norpar. The Norpar solvents have relatively narrow boiling-point ranges, rather high flash points, low surface tensions, and have been assigned OELs of 300 ppm.
