Team effort

Employers must develop in-house capability to investigate incidents that occur in their facilities. A team should be assembled by the employer and trained in the techniques of investigation, including how to conduct interviews of witnesses, assemble needed documentation, and write reports. A multidisciplinary team is better able to gather the facts of the event and to analyze them and develop plausible scenarios as to what happened and why. Team members should be selected on the basis of their training, knowledge, and ability to contribute to a team effort to fully investigate the incident. 

An important part of (name s) mandate from the Committee is to assure that our plan for managing process safety reflects our businesses diverse needs and takes full advantage of our resident experience and specialized expertise. To do this, (name) needs your help effective implementation of PSM can only be achieved as a team effort. For this reason, we have encouraged him to identify and call on experts throughout Company X to work with him. 

Whether or not a team effort is feasible, defining goals for your efforts helps you stay on track, anticipate bottlenecks and obstacles, and assure that the end results reflect the real world of your particular company.

Research is a team effort, and these colleagues have made wonderful teams. 

Certainly biomolecular NMR is not the single method which is important for hit identification in pharmaceutical research. It is always a combination of techniques and a team effort that leads to a successful drug. This can involve biologists (basic understanding, assay development, bio-informatics), chemists (both bench chemists and modelers), screening specialists (HTS/natural products) and spectroscopists (X-ray, optical methods, surface plasmon resonance, NMR). 

Another area in need of work is the on-site grafting, attachment of polymeric materials on biological sites such as particularly badly broken bones where the leg is surgically opened and a polymeric material chemically attached after suitable bone activation with the polymeric material degrading after its use period is up. This area 1s mentioned only to reinforce the notion that interdisciplinary team efforts and polymer chemists with broad training are needed to make the best use of... 

The ignition modifications suggested here should all work, however, I would recommend to first bench test your circuits to see that they really go BANG Also recommended is that you do this as a team effort. Make friends with a mechanic, an electrical/electronic engineer and others that may contribute to your project. I have found many interested and willing helpers at tech schools and universities. They all want to run their cars on water too. And this makes your project much more fun. 

At the same time that engineering requires team effort, it can also call for outstanding individual effort. Many of the most creative and advanced engineering projects have required a champion to almost single-handedly overcome obstacles and single-mindedly bring an idea to fruition. Thus ours is a profession that finds a place for the engaged maverick at the same time it embraces the team and its players. 

To be successful, validation is of necessity a team effort. The complexity and degree of detail required in validations that will meet compliance needs, require the involvement of individuals from numerous specialized fields. The systematic analysis of a process requires the participation and insight of these individuals united in a common target through the validation team effort. In order to carry out development programs in forensic science, the Institute of Chemical Analysis, Applications and Forensic Science was established. This Institute, a separate organization on campus, has research and training as its main activities with special emphasis in the application of chemical analysis to forensic science. The Institute is further developing programs at the present time in pharmaceutical analysis and energy research its overall philosophy is thus the application of chemical expertise to social problems through the team efforts of chemists and practitioners. 

With these introductory comments in mind we would now like to examine the M.S. program in forensic chemistry that is being planned for September 1975 at Northeastern University. Personnel from the Institute visited many of the schools listed in Table I, as well as a number of practicing laboratories. We wish to thank all those who freely gave advice without their help we would not have been able to advance to the present stage. As in research, a team effort was made by members of the Institute in the curriculum development. Personnel experienced in forensic science interacted with chemists, toxicologists and materials scientists to achieve a final program.
