Interviews conducting

The interviews conducted during on-site progress reviews provide one source of user feedback. However, it is likely that you will speak with only a small number of the people who interact with the PSM system. To acquire broader input, you should consider a formal user survey. 

The information gathered from the interviews conducted as part of the human error data collection process is entered on paper forms. In order to facilitate the ease and accuracy of data collection, the forms should be designed using human factors guidelines for written materials (e.g., Wright, 1987 Wright and Barnard, 1975).

Hagley Museum and Library is the richest repository of material about Carothers scientific career. Marjorie McNinch was particularly helpful during my visit. Hagley s collection includes the correspondence between Carothers and Du Pont about his hiring, Carothers notebooks, Carothers letters to his close friend, John R. Johnson and transcripts of interviews conducted with Carothers associates by David A. Hounshell and John Kenley Smith, Jr., and by Adeline C. Strange.

The following is an interview conducted with Mark llgen, a clinical psychologist who works at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California. 

Objective evidence to answer these questions is sought in both management system documentation and on-site interviews conducted with executives and employees. Evidence is documented and evaluated. On the basis of this evidence and these evaluations, an overall evaluation is then arrived at, which results in certificate issue and demonstrates existing opportunities for improvement. 

The final data source was a set of traditional interviews conducted at the end of the semester. Twelve students participated in these interviews, four from class B (described below) and eight from class C2. The interviews were loosely based on an interview guide and ran between 30 and 45 minutes in length. The purpose of the interviews was to inquire more deeply and directly into the experiences the students had during the semester.

Another of Conant s students was Frank Westheimer (b. 1912), who, after postdoctoral work with Hammett at Columbia, held a post at the University of Chicago (1936-1954) and then returned to Harvard. Westheimer worked in several areas of physical organic chemistry and engaged in other chemistry-based activities, as revealed in an interview conducted in 1995 by Istvan Hargittai.233 For much of his career, Westheimer was essentially a physical organic chemist working in biochemistry and he has himself written reflectively on the discovery of the mechanisms of enzyme action over the period 1947-1963234 and on the application of physical organic chemistry to biochemical problems.235 Westheimer has also contributed, as Tetrahedron Perspective Number 4, an article on Coincidences, decarboxylation, and electrostatic effects , which, he writes, ...allows me to review some of my past .236... 

Two Rome interviews conducted from August 10-16,1978, with prominent Italian journalists and one Austrian journalist who request to remain anonymous. The interviews were conducted by members of the Rome staff of the New Solidarity Press Service at the request of the authors. 

Jagschitz quotes one such qualified witness.129 The Auschwitz camp physician he quotes - Dr. Horst Fischer, who claims to have frequently supervised gas chamber executions himself - reports of gassing times of two to three minutes, which agrees with the claims of the vast majority of all other witnesses, including the SS man Hans Munch in an interview conducted by this author.128 The former Camp Commandant R. HoB also spoke of 3 to, in exceptional cases, 15 minutes.130 Such a relatively quick execution would require the use of correspondingly large quantities of Zyklon B. The approximate quantity shall be determined in the following. 

The results showed that in all but one of tbe nine categories, subjects in the experimental group experienced significantly higher scores than the controls. The one exception was the experience of a positive mood of love, which was reported by the controls also. The difference between the two groups persisted and even increased slightly in a six-month follow-up interview conducted by Pahnke. 

The model of Figure 13.4 shows two layers at the middle level, and these layers contain identical sets of nodes. The nodes for the student models were identified from the student interviews conducted at the end of the first SPS session, and they are the bases for the students cognitive maps. Three trained individuals read the transcript of each student s interview and determined which nodes... 

The existence and vitality of this worldwide network of sources demonstrates that the flow of popular science information may have been more complex than historians have previously assumed. Only about one-tenth of Daily Mail Report stories in the 1930s, regardless of discipline, appear to have been based on interviews conducted by Science Service s full-time staff. Instead, they transformed other material into news -editing stringers reports or sifting through page proofs for journals...

Discussed here are two of their feature documentaries. Troublesome Creek A Midwestern, about the Jordan family s struggle to save their Iowa farm, won the Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award at the Sundance Film Festival in 1996 and was nominated for an Academy Award. So Much So Fast, which premiered at Sundance in 2006, is about the events set in motion when Stephen Heywood was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig s disease). I spoke with the filmmakers separately for this interview, conducted in 2003 and updated since.

This approach is also strengthened by the interviews conducted in this project. Several informants in different ways expressed how the land organization is too preoccupied with certain isolated aspects of work performance on board, and not sufficiently concerned with taking the overall performance into account.
