Structure quality checking

Structure quality checking Make sure the entered structure is compliant with a set of business conventions from your organization such as stereo chemistry and sprout hydrogen. These conventions can be coded in commercially available chemistry intelligent software such as MDL Cheshire and Accelrys Accord. [Pg.49]

Side chain atom packing of amino acid residues has been an important structural quality measure in X-ray.112,113 The structural quality criteria are also introduced for NMR structure quality checks.50,114 However, almost, all NMR structures deposited in PDB uniformly have poor scores for the side chain packing. There is no consensus whether X-ray packing-derived structural criteria can be used for NMR quality check. Some checking programs are available in PDB, e.g., PROCHECK,115 PROCHECK-NMR,116 and WHAT-CHECK.117... [Pg.265]

First, the structure should explain the data. Apart from the energy or target function value returned by the refinement program, this check can be performed with some independent programs (e.g., AQUA/PROCHECK-NMR [90], MOLMOL [91]). The analysis of the deviations from the restraints used in calculating the structures is very useful in the process of assigning the NOE peaks and refining the restraint list. As indicators of the quality of the final structure they are less powerful, because violations have been checked and probably removed. A recent statistical survey of the quality of NMR structures found weak correlations between deviations from NMR restraints and other indicators of structure quality [88]. [Pg.271]

If the above sketched quality checks flag for an unacceptably distorted or unrealistic geometry and the program cannot remedy this, it should be good practice not to send the questionable structure to the output file. [Pg.173]

Quality control is performed at the moment of data entry, in particular, with respect to errors present in publications. Chemical structures are checked for structural consistency by matching the molecular weight (MW) and chemical formula with the ones available in the experimental section and/or supporting information - whenever available, and by comparison to prior publications. Whenever in doubt, we also use other sources, such as the Merck Index [20] and free Internet resources. In the instances... [Pg.228]

System performs quality checking (QC) on the parent structure using a set of chemistry business rules (see QC Structures Use Case Spec). If the structure is corrected by the QC process, System displays the structure in its original form and the corrected form side-by-side and highlights what has been changed. If the structure requires manual correction, the System displays the structure and highlights what must be corrected. Otherwise, the structure passes QC. [Pg.54]

Within the five principles, there are some interesting consequences, for instance, about the quality of the data. There should be a check of the input values. In case of toxicity values, some databases are good, but others not. We compared different official databases on pesticides and found differences. Worst is the case of data taken from the literature. But this aspect is not limited to the property values. We found many mistakes even in the chemical structures, which have been reported in journals. All these checks require time and efforts, and are not typically done when a QS AR model is studied for academic research. Vice versa, in case of a model to be proposed as a model for regulatory purposes, efforts should be dedicated to the quality check of the data. [Pg.192]

It was shown that room temperature synthesis allows the preparation of highly regular materials with different types of mesophases and morphologies. It was revealed by this study that a useful way to combine the nitrogen adsorption and XRD data in order to check the structural quality of the samples is by means of plotting lA7p against (ao/rp(H)). ... [Pg.370]

As discussed in Section 10, the side chain atoms presumably have high mobility even in protein core.110 In the near future, the quality check criteria for NMR structures will be developed including the dynamic properties. [Pg.265]

In these systems, both the immobihzed partner and analyte in solution are dehvered to the sensor surface via an integrated microfluidics device. All the steps in the immobihzation procedure can therefore be monitored by SPR detection and serve as an important guidance and quality check. The channels for fluid dehvery and flow cell structures are made by micromolding of elastomeric materials and are produced with cell widths down to a few hundred micrometers [65]. Spatial distribution of immobilized partners is achieved by addressing the distinct flow cells individually. [Pg.146]

The quaternary ammonium herbicides paraquat and diquat were first separated by CZE and then detected by ESI on a laboratory-built TOP instrument by means of volatile buffers. Depending on the buffer the ESI-TOF mass spectra of paraquat and diquat under these conditions showed singly and doubly charged molecular ions [489]. Moyano et al. also applied ESI-CZE-MS(-t) to the determination of the herbicides mepiquat, chlormequat, diquat, paraquat and difenzoquat in water. MS/MS provided the structural information essential for the confirmation of identity [490]. For product quality check-up of formulations of the herbicide chlormequat ESI-CZE-MS was used, allowing the determination of contaminants contained in the formulation [491]. The quaternary ammonium pesticides paraquat diquat, difenzoquat, chlormequat and mepiquat were analysed by ESI-LC-MS(-t). Prior to analysis ion-pairing extraction was applied to concentrate compounds prior to analysis on different SPE materials (e.g. Cg, Cjg, and PS-VDB)... [Pg.811]

The Deming cycle entails make a plan for an improvement, do it, check whether the desired result is obtained, and act from now on in this way. Continuous monitoring of the result, if necessary followed by (further) adjustment, allows for a structured quality improvement. In the pharmaceutical area a QMS (PQS) is also necessary for the demonstration of compliance with regulatory requirements and professional standards. Thus, the Ph. Eur. monograph Pharmaceutical Preparations (see Sect. 35.5.3) states Manufacture/prepa-ration must take place within the framework of a suitable... [Pg.770]

An important step in the production of those structures is the quality check, which needs to be performed at the end of production, before final delivery of the material to the customer. A similar equipment to the one used in the field for the interrogation of the sensors is used to check the integrity of the sensors embedded in the structure, as shown in Eigure 13.3. [Pg.280]

Mechanical tapping is a simple and sensitive test for bonded structures to check the quality of the bond between parts. [Pg.305]

Although about 15 million structures are known, the large commercially available spectroscopic databases contain only 1-2% of them. It can be expected that the trend toward global networking will lead to an increase in the number of electronically available spectra. In this context, quality checks for new data entries are an essential requirement to avoid impairing spectrum prediction facilities by entering incorrect assigned spectra. [Pg.2645]

Agreement on the NDE plan will be dependent on the extent and relevance of theschedule. Under the amendments proposed to the Rules Surveyors will check that structurally significant welds are included in the shipyard s quality control programme. When agreement has been reached the Surveyor will endorse the plan. [Pg.1045]

An important measure for quality is the verification by MD or SA of the stability of a molecular model. Other programs (e.g., PROCHECK) can also be used to check the globular geometrical quality of a structure to avoid serious defects in the geometry of proteins. [Pg.779]

Consequently, measurement of the impact of licensing and inspection on the final outcomes (quality of product and quality of use) is complicated by other factors. The question then becomes how can we measure the effectiveness of licensing and inspection Two approaches are possible a) checking whether the necessary structures for licensing and inspection activities exist or b) using indicators that provide information about the intermediate outcomes of licensing and inspection. [Pg.119]

High quality is one of the criteria defined in the requirements section above. Since the program should run automatically in batch mode, we mean by quality control an internal check of the 3D structures produced by the structure generator itself. In general, the abilities of a fast, automatic structure builder to assess the quaUty of its models are rather limited since, for example, an exhaustive conformation analysis and energy optimization is impossible in most cases. However, there are a Umited number of simple quaUty checks to avoid trivially distorted structures ... [Pg.173]

There are various ways to check the quality of the resulting structures with respect to experiment. A typical check would be to compare the mean square end-to-end distance with results from scattering experiments. However, since the experimental samples are highly polydisperse, the results from scattering experiments are somewhat questionable [195]. Furthermore, a crucial check is the direct comparison of conformations of systems. In order to be able to compare the conformations resulting from simulations unanimously to experiment we reintroduce the chemical details into the coarse-grained chain. This is one of the reasons why it is so important to device a mapping procedure which stays close to the chemical structure of the objects. We have a one-... [Pg.142]

After all the answers from the interviews had been uploaded, an expert analysed each supply chain for each of the seven defined criteria for quality and safety microbial toxins and abiotic contaminants potential pathogens natural plant toxicants freshness and taste nutrient content and food additives fraud social and ethical aspects. For example, an expert on freshness and taste would check each major step in a supply chain for tomatoes to determine if it fulfilled the definition of a CCP (HACCP, Principle 2) in relation to freshness and taste for this commodity. If the step was considered to be a CCP, the answers in the questionnaire that related to relevant substeps at this step would be reviewed, to assess the control procedures that were in use for this CCP. The expert would then fill in the text field, structuring the input to consist of the following points ... [Pg.502]

DFT calculations were performed on Mo dinitrogen, hydra-zido(2-) and hydrazidium complexes. The calculations are based on available X-ray crystal structures, simplifying the phosphine ligands by PH3 groups. Vibrational spectroscopic data were then evaluated with a quantum chemistry-assisted normal coordinate analysis (QCA-NCA) which involves calculation of the / matrix by DFT and subsequent fitting of important force constants to match selected experimentally observed frequencies, in particular v(NN), v(MN), and 8(MNN) (M = Mo, W). Furthermore time-dependent (TD-) DFT was employed to calculate electronic transitions, which were then compared to experimental UVATs absorption spectra (16). As a result, a close check of the quality of the quantum chemical calculations was obtained. This allowed us to employ these calculations as well as to understand the chemical reactivity of the intermediates of N2 fixation (cf. Section III). [Pg.372]

The list will probably contain a mixture of processes that lead to values of the performance parameters and quality control checks. A more structured approach will now be taken to method validation. The important performance characteristics are shown in Table 4.6. [Pg.77]
