Many case studies have been described for pharmacophore models. The second section will report some success stories in which pharmacophore models have been used. The validation methods to which the authors have to resort will be particularly emphasized. Undeniably, the ultimate validation method for a model is to demonstrate its practical usefulness for drug discovery ... 

Certainly, these few contributions cover a great variety of achievements, bring some success stories, discuss some potential pitfalls and discuss several practical experiences. It is clear that this synopsis is non-exhaustive it is also obvious... 

Without the need of completeness, we discuss the most state-of-the art structure-based VS that are generally used at pharmaceutical industries during the drug discovery process. Our attempt was also to give a picturesque overview on the structure-based VS process and show its effectiveness or its failures through a case study and some success stories during the CADD processes. 

Nevertheless it must also be expected that anything which increases DA function not only controls extrapyramidal function but also reproduces the other central effects of DA i.e. vomiting, a reduction in prolactin secretion and some psychotic manifestations. In excess it may also cause dyskinesias. Despite these problems, the therapy of PD is one of the success stories of neurology.

Vaccination against viral and bacterial diseases has been one of the success stories of human and veterinary medicine. Probably the most outstanding example of the effectiveness of vaccination is the eradication of smallpox. In 1967 between 10 and 15 million cases of smallpox occurred annually in some 33 countries. By 1977 the last naturally occurring case was reported in Somalia. Polio, too, has been controlled in developed countries, for example the number of cases in the USA was reduced from over 40,000 per year in the early 1950s, before a vaccine was available, to only a handful of cases in the 1980s. Diphtheria is now almost unheard of yet over 45,000... 

Rather than carry a corpse, a quite different animal kidnaps a living organism as its chemical defense. This is the strategy of a tiny marine creature called an amphipod, a member of a widespread order (Amphipoda) of small crustaceans. The tens of thousands of their species represent an assortment of types and lifestyles, many looking like tiny shrimp, to which they are related. Marine amphi-pods are one of the invertebrate success stories and can be found in almost all saltwater environments, feeding on plants, animals, or detritus. Many are microscopic or nearly so. Some are at home in... 

Some good reasons to use plastics and a few examples of success stories... 

The majority of chemical methods for the asymmetric hydrogenation of unsaturated systems rely on the use of transition metal catalysts or stoichiometric amounts of metal hydride. The chemical importance of this transformation has led to the development of some of the most powerful and efficient methods in catalytic asymmetric synthesis. Routinely used on the milligram to multi-tonne scale, they represent one of the biggest success stories of asymmetric catalysis [120]. 

For the rational design of transition metal catalyzed reactions, as well as for fine-tuning, it is vital to know about the catalytic mechanism in as much detail as possible. Apart from kinetic measurements, the only way to learn about mechanistic details is direct spectroscopic observation of reactive intermediates. In this chapter, we have demonstrated that NMR spectroscopy is an invaluable tool in this respect. In combination with other physicochemical effects (such as parahydrogen induced nuclear polarization) even reactive intermediates, which are present at only very low concentrations, can be observed and fully characterized. Therefore, it might be worthwhile not only to apply standard experiments, but to go and exploit some of the more exotic techniques that are now available and ready to use. The successful story of homogeneous hydrogenation with rhodium catalysts demonstrates impressively that this really might be worth the effort. 

For the less ambitious goal of predicting qualitative trends upon molecular structure modifications, there are many more success stories. Some of the properties that have been used in industry to predict trends are ... 

In this chapter we have heard different accounts of the ways psychotropic drugs affect users senses of themselves. In some cases medication allowed people to realize their authentic selves or to function at a higher level. In this sense their narratives are success stories, even miracles. In other cases, by contrast, people described psychiatric drugs as masking or even devastating their authentic selves. As a result they were typically resistant to or ambivalent about medication. 

I have personally been involved in environmental remediation projects for half a century and am still going strong. In some regards it was easier decades ago when there were few proven options for the wide variety of chemical contaminants that plagued our waters, soil, and air. Of course, there were also less clear-cut success stories. Today there exists a myriad of proven options successfully implemented by intelligent environmental scientists, consulting firms, and technology providers. 

When interviewing a potential resume writer you might hire, make sure they ve already written resumes for other people working in your field or who applied for the same type of position as you. Some people specialize in helping clients in specific income areas of industries. Be sure to ask about the resume writer s success stories and determine specifically how they interact with clients. I believe the best way to extract information from a client is by asking dozens upon dozens of questions. Some resume writers, however, will simply take the notes provided by their client and create a resume based only on that information.
