Selection and Assembly

If you purchase a mill, and it s not assembled, inspect the components against the parts list and drawings supplied by the manufacturer before you do anything else. Then lay out the components in the approximate order of assembly, checking each for twist, bend or warp. Correct any defects you find, and if a component is beyond repair, have it replaced. [Pg.34]

When the mill is assembled, double-check to be sure you ve followed all procedures properly before taking the mill into the field. Remember, precision in the shop is vital to productive and enjoyable work in the field- [Pg.34]

Return the bar to its working position, readjust chain tension and secure the bar clamping nuts. Mark the tip of the bar at a point that will allow space between the bar and the nose guard or helper handle. The two vertical lines in the photograph (I) mark the maximum limits for mounting the mill on this bar. [Pg.36]

Before mounting, set the height of the mill to 3 in. on both riser posts. Then mount the mill [Pg.36]

With all components in proper position, the mill aligned, and all nuts and bolts torqued, the standard mill is ready logo. But first let s have a look at a few other things you might want to do. [Pg.36]

Aerosols are unique. The various components are all part of the product, and in the aerosol industry, the formulating chemist must be familiar with the entire package assembly and each of its components. AH aerosols consist of product concentrate, propeUant, container, and valve (including an actuator and dip tube). There are many variations of these components, and only when each component is properly selected and assembled does a suitable aerosol product result. A typical aerosol system is shown in Figure 1. [Pg.344]

Modules may be selected and assembled to meet specific requirements (NOTE the software may require purchasing several modules to function properly.)... [Pg.270]

This research has progressed only because the science was willing to allow Nature s biomolecules to intervene earlier than is usual for medicinal chemistry protocols. The role of biomolecules has been elevated from spectator to key player, to guide and instruct the synthesis of potent inhibitor molecules, while the medicinal chemist acts to facilitate this process. The in situ selection and assembly of fragments could in principle be screened by an activity assay or by any number of analytical techniques for drug discovery, however, it is a... [Pg.193]

What will happen to the product when it is replaced and who is responsible for it Such considerations change the way materials are selected and assembled. [Pg.7]

The proper selection and assembly of components in a pressure system are critical safety factors. Considerations should include the materials used in manufacturing the components, compatibility with the materials to be under pressure, the tools used for assembly, and the reliability of the finished connections. No oil or lubricant of any kind should be used in a tubing system with oxygen because the combination produces an explosion hazard. [Pg.129]

The curve display unit (Fig. 15) supersedes the conventional recording instrument. All the analog measured variables connected to the process computer and the calculated characteristic values can be represented (to various scales) on this display unit. Modern units of this kind can simultaneously show up to seven curves (graphs) in different colours. Besides, several curves can be selected and assembled into a combined display. Records of past events can likewise be shown on the video screen for "post mortem" verification. The equipment supplied by some manufacturers moreover enables the flow chart sections to be shown with superimposed curves on one and the same display unit. While this is certainly an interesting technique, care must be taken that the clarity of presentation and informative value of the images are not diminished. [Pg.709]

This interchangeability of screw components enables the processor to select and assemble the proper screw and kneading block arrangement needed to obtain maximum production efficiency for a specific material or process. [Pg.58]

Often, the entire electrical system has to be replaced. To prevent this, great care must be taken when selecting the hot runner system and the proper installation. Other causes can also be the wear in nozzles. Here, the annular gap must be adjusted or the locking mechanism should be renewed. Potential causes of failure are also defective heater bands and cartridges, as well as failed sensors. Careful selection and assembly helps here to avoid this cause for disruption. [Pg.692]
