PLM is a precondition for a seamless product documentation process to support all kinds of requests arising from regulatory definitions. PLM has to provide the data base for aU kinds of documentation. Product documentation needs to be represented in different formats and with a well-defined status. This documentation must accompany product instances along their lifetime. This is essential for mission-critical products, like aircrafts and their engines, to keep track of the product instances themselves. Comparable requirements arise from regulations for providing spare parts or replacement instructions for the product lifetime and to provide documentation on proper end-of-life procedures. 

There is a high demand for seamless products in the medical sector in various applications such as bandages, orthopedic supports, medical compression stockings, gloves, and many more. With the incorporation of high-performance fibre combined with technical developments, it is possible to design these products with unique features which are comfortable in addition to their other desired features. Specialized aesthetics, feeling of wellness, additional functionality, and other desired properties have helped in quick recovery. The use of seamless products can lead to certain medical procedures delayed or even avoided. 

In order to obtain the circuit layout design shown in Fig. 3.9 on the garment, production of seamless products is considered. Hence, a MBS Merz single-jersey circular knitting machine with a cylinder diameter of 13 inches and E28 gage is used to produce a base structure of interactive garment as seen in Fig. 3.10. 

The major portion of drill string is composed of drill pipe. The drill pipe is manufactured by the seamless process. According to API Specification 5A (Thirty-fifth Edition, March 1981), seamless pipe is defined as a wrought steel tabular product made without a welded seam. It is manufactured by hot working steel or, if necessary, by subsequently cold finishing the hot worked tabular product to produce the desired shape, dimensions and properties. 

Electrodeposition of metal onto structured objects, such as circuits, is controlled in part by a template. At the same time, the deposit must fill all the recesses uniformly and seamlessly, the texture and crystal structure must fall within tolerances, and the quality of the features must be sustained over a large workpiece. The distribution of material within recesses or onto widely separated portions of the workpiece is subject to a limited number of macroscopic control-parameters such as applied potential and plating bath composition. Success therefore depends on exploitation of the natural pathways of the process. The spontaneous and unconstrained development of structure must be taken into consideration in the production of highly organized and functional patterns. 

We now move on slightly, conceptually. Consider a single pair of reactant molecules combining to form a product. As electrons rearrange as the reaction commences, we pass smoothly from a structure that is purely reactant to one of pure product. The transition from one to the other is seamless see Figure 8.23.

As vitally important as the capabilities for experimental planning, screening, and data analysis are the procedures for preparation of inorganic catalysts. In contrast to the procedures usually applied in conventional catalyst synthesis, the synthetic techniques have to be adapted to the number of catalysts required in the screening process. Today, pharmaceutical companies are linking CDS to business systems such as SAP, chemical structure databases, electronic laboratory notebooks, and corporate data warehousing solutions. Many commonly used software products utilize COM Automation (Microsoft s Component Object Model) to provide a powerful array of programmable objects that allow seamless connections between applications. 

Metallic pipe systems comprise the majority of applications. Metallic pipe, tubing, and pipe fittings are divided into two main categories seamless and welded. Both have advantages and disadvantages in terms of economy and function. Specifications governing the production of these products dictate the permissible mechanical and dimensional variations, and code design calculations account for these variations.

Building quality into a pharmaceutical product has to be considered from the very beginning of the product s life.
