Scope of This Study

The framework for data collection, as depicted in Figure 2.1, lays down the focus and scope of this study. The regulation of human pharmaceuticals, as addressed in this study, has four dimensions administrative elements, regulatory functions, technical elements and level of regulation. As well as capturing the various dimensions of dmg regulation, this framework allows for comparison of dmg regulation between countries. 

Chapter 1 provided a general research area, where the problem of measuring safety pro-actively was identified in literature and in practice. This was done by sketching a recent accident and discussing how safety was measured in the past and currently. Moreover, it highlighted that the pro-active measurement of safety is still a problem in the chemical process industry. The development of substantially more understanding of how to pro-actively indicate accidents in the chemical process industry, was finally derived as the scope of this study and will be discussed in the remaining Chapters of this thesis. 

Overall Assessment of R D for Environmental Protection. It is recognized by the researchers that a total analysis of the societal cost versus societal benefits of R D for environmental protection research is well beyond the scope of this study. 

Based on these considerations and the purpose of this study, disposal is the only disposition discussed in developing recommendations on exemption of waste that contains small amounts of hazardous substances based on risk. Consideration of dispositions of exempt materials other than disposal as nonhazardous waste is beyond the scope of this study. However, the principles used in this Report to define exempt waste based on risk also could be used to define exempt material for any other purpose. 

This Section presents basic definitions and concepts necessary to undertake a detailed discussion of waste classification (more detailed technical background is provided in Section 3). It also describes the scope of this Report to indicate why further discussion of a number of issues that are important to waste classification is not required because they are outside the scope of this study. 

Each plan represents a completely feasible and reasonably efficient refining arrangement. A more detailed optimization of conditions, cut points, and other factors, while not within the scope of this study, would be carried out in the course of a normal refinery design. 

We describe the potential ethanol yield from almond hulls and whey, but we do not consider these materials for use in the ethanol facility. The technology exists to process almond hulls and whey for ethanol, while retaining their value as animal feed, but that activity requires an additional capital investment that is beyond the scope of this study. 

Helium pycnometry can also be used to obtain an estimate of porosity providing that the porous sample is sealed to prevent gas penetration. There are experimental problems that need to be addressed to ensure that the seal is effective and that it doesn t significantly alter the volume or weight of the sample which are beyond the scope of this study. 

The choice between these two alternative residuumprocessing methods depends on many economic factors, and how such a choice would be made is beyond the scope of this study. However, these two processes are compared in Reference 2. Figure 4, a summary chart from Reference 2, indicates that coking is the preferred choice if it is desired to convert 60% or more of the crude (Arabian Heavy, in this case) to prime (clean) products. 

Treblinka II has gone down in Holocaust history as an extermination camp, whereas the camp Treblinka I, closely associated with a gravel pit, has hardly figured in subject literature at all. Since it is beyond the scope of this study to analyze all the accounts that have been advanced with respect to Treblinka II, and since it is only our intent to consider the necessary prerequisites and consequences of the mass extermination alleged by the witnesses, we shall confine the following to the most striking points. 

Also, to provide completeness to this study a H2 storage medium is needed. It is beyond the scope of this study to evaluate all possible H2 storage systems. The incorporation of a metal hydride system provides one legitimate model for the assessment of downstream H2 distribution systems. By incorporating a MH storage and delivery system in this, two significant issues requiring additional research have been identified in the review process ... 

The milling equipment evaluated in this limited study was selected on the basis of their ability to supply precise and reproducible samples of a specific size range. The evaluation of other types of available mills, having similar capabilities, was beyond the scope of this study. A brief description of the mills evaluated is included below. 

Cumulative irritation The scope of this study is to determine long-term irritation potentials under exaggerated conditions or to assess and compare the mildness of formulations. It consists of a controlled patch test involving 15-30 subjects using 14-21 repetitive 24 h applications. The FDA recommends a 21 day patch test in a 30-subject panel. For more irritating cosmetics, a 14 day application would satisfy the objective of the study. 

The scope of this study will be deliberately wide, therefore. It will explore Baudelaire s translations from English for signs of subjectivity and creativity, and will try and discover forms of translation other than intralingual in the Baudelairean corpus. In other words, it will not only explore the direct translations of Poe s texts, but instead will also focus on more ambiguous texts, such as the adaptations from English (Un Mangeur d opium, for instance), and other forms of dual writing in Baudelaire s works as the doublets and transpositions d art. 

The doublets are the most striking example of Baudelaire s experiments with rewriting and self-translation. It would be outside the scope of this study to engage in an in-depth comparison of verse and prose doublets - which has already been done very successfully elsewhere -90 and I will therefore, concentrate only on these aspects from the poems which support the argument that the doublets are a form of translation. As Barbara Johnson reminds us in Defigurations du langage poetique, verse and prose poetry are very different media, which follow different rules and purposes. 

Eogenetic feldspar dissolution and kaolinization are potential sources for the early-burial quartz overgrowths. Determination of the source for quartz outgrowths and overgrowths is beyond the scope of this study.

The scope of this study was to develop an optimal supported bimetallic Cu-Zn catalyst for the selective production of methoxyacetone ( MA) from MOIP. 

Within the scope of this study an irmovative concept is developed, where the light-off of the monolith is induced by an exothermic reaction at the catalytic surface (combustion heated catalyst, CHC). It will be shown that in comparison with the other concepts the cold-start emissions with the CHC-concept are lowest level and almost independent of local deactivation of the catalyst.
