Reservation list

To perform that formal evaluation of the special surveillance list of non-scheduled substances, the advisory expert group of the Board reviewed seizure data for the five-year period 2000-2004. During that period, 44 countries reported seizing a total of 165 non-controlled substances, of which 23 were substances already included on the special surveillance list, 35 were on the reserve list and a further 29 substances met the criteria established by the Board for selecting substances for inclusion in the list. Those 87 substances were reviewed, which led to 36 substances being identified for inclusion in the limited international special surveillance list. 

Thorium makeup requirements for one reactor system, the HTGR (high-temperature gas-cooled reactor), may be estimated from Fig. 3.33. A 1000-MWe HTGR requires 7.4 MT of thorium as feed pet year. Reprocessing recovers 6.8 MT, which can be recycled after storage for 20 to 30 years to permit excess Th to decay. The net thorium consumption of a 1000-MWe reactor then is 0.6 MT/year. Thus, the 441,000 MT of U.S. ThOa thorium reserves listed in Table 6.14 would provide thorium fuel for...

ensure that the plant meets the design intent. Die formal handover usually has a certificate with the final reservation hst of remedial work requited. It is most imponant that the plant is handed over in a safe condition, correctly built and to design. 

During this handover period the commissioning team personnel record their reservations on plant acceptability for correction by the construction team. It is essential that during this period standardized paperwork is used, otherwise misunderstandings can occur. It is important to define the responslbili for accepting satisfactoi completion of items on the reservation list. 

The annual reporting requirements to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) legally oblige listed oil companies to state their proven reserves. 

Many biochemical databases with sophisticated topics have been developed for solving various problems. Since 1996 the first issue of each journal volume of Nucleic Acid Research has been reserved for the presentation of molecular biology databases [28]. A comprehensive catalog on the Internet is DBCAT, currently listing 511 databases [29, 30). 

The main factors which influence fretting wear can be classified as in the following paragraphs, but as more data become available, it is apparent that a greater measure of interdependence exists than might be indicated by such a simple procedure, and it is becoming less easy to make generalisations. Nevertheless, even with this reservation in mind, it is useful as a first step to list some of the more important factors. 

All bench-mounted equipment should be listed with its dimensions, which can be taken from measurements or from catalog data. It should be noted which instruments may have to be put at a certain minimum distance from other objects in order to avoid interference or allow for servicing. Work space should be allowed next to each instiiiment for samples, notebooks, etc. This space may be considerable in case of an analytical instrument on which many samples are to be tested at one time. Space sharing should be discouraged, with the required work space next to an instrument reserved for that alone. Sinks and fume hoods should also be included in this list, with an allowance of at least 18 inches of free space on each side of a sink.

Make a list of basic skills useful in analytical chemistry, such as public speaking, writing skills, statistics, electronics, and computer science. Determine where each analyst is strong or weak, and make a commitment to further training. Reserve several hours each week for special training in basic skills. Presentation by junior analysts of a published paper to a group of peers is one useful format. 

Erythema, inflammation, pain, and itching caused by contact dermatitis can be effectively treated with topically applied corticosteroids. With such a wide range of products and potencies available, an appropriate steroid selection is based on severity and location of the lesions. Table 62-6 shows a list of topical steroids and their potencies. Higher-potency preparations are used in areas where penetration is poor, such as on the elbows and knees. Lower-potency products should be reserved for areas of higher penetration, such as on the face, axillae, and groin. Low-potency steroids are also recommended for the treatment of infants and children.32,33... 

We went back and forth a couple of times, but rather than list each of our conversations individually, we will reserve comments until we have looked at all the comments, and then we will summarize our responses to all four respondents together, since several of these response comments say the same things, to some extent. 

In this section we consider how Newton-Raphson iteration can be applied to solve the governing equations listed in Section 4.1. There are three steps to setting up the iteration (1) reducing the complexity of the problem by reserving the equations that can be solved linearly, (2) computing the residuals, and (3) calculating the Jacobian matrix. Because reserving the equations with linear solutions reduces the number of basis entries carried in the iteration, the solution technique described here is known as the reduced basis method. ... 

Despite the complications, and with a few reservations (see DPM below), the chemical properties of singlet and triplet carbenes are generally distinct and separable. For the most part, triplet carbenes behave as biradicals, and the singlets as electrophiles. Of course there are exceptions, but this generalization appears to be true for the aromatic carbenes which are the subject of this report. In the remaining parts of this section we discuss some of the particular reactions used to characterize the carbenes listed in Tables 1 and 2. 

In some cases, we may immediately decide that some information is not required — for example Librarian in the reserve operation. This doesn t stop you putting that information back in a later refinement —the refinement rules allow you to add parameters, but not to take them away so by paring down the parameter list at the most abstract level, you are keeping your options open. 

There are two generally accepted systems of abbreviation for trivial names, using either one or three letters. The choice of form to use is generally determined by circumstances. Normally, three-letter symbols are used, and one-letter symbols are reserved for long sequences of amino acids. A list of such symbols is shown in Table 7.1. 

The answer is h. (Hardman, p 1077.) Unlike the other listed drugs, oxacillin is resistant to penicillinase. The other four agents are broad-spectrum penicillins, while oxacillin is generally specific for Gram-positive microorganisms. Use of penicillinase-resistant penicillins should be reserved for infections caused by penicillinase-producing staphylococci. 

Thus, the candidacies of Gomberg and Schlenk were ruled out in 1924 by their recency statute, presumably after some discussion in the committee, as can be deduced from the unusually long statement in the Academy report. In that year, no Nobel prize was awarded because of the lack of suitable candidates (the nominees of 1924 are listed in Table 5), somewhat surprisingly, in view of the fact that the prize winners of the three coming years were nominated in 1924. The prize of 1924 was reserved for the next year and, in the end, forever. So, there is a question which is bound to be difficult to answer Was the committee really so deeply concerned about the recency statute, or did it simply not want to award the discovery of free radicals Gomberg was to be nominated in 1927, 1928, 1929 (with Schlenk), 1938 and 1940 but the committee, now with largely different members, always dealt with these nominations by reference to the Academy report of 1924 and Widman s special reports of 1921 and 1918. 

The supply and demand for rubidium compounds has grown steadily since the 1970s. In 1979 the U.S. demand was ca 1040 kg of contained rubidium (16), and total world demand was estimated at approximately twice that of the United States. Reserves of rubidium in North America are estimated at 2 x 103 kg the United States is 100% import-reliant for rubidium, and Canada is the principal source of the raw material (16). The demand for rubidium metal is small compared to the demand for rubidium compounds. Table 2 lists approximate prices of rubidium metal and rubidium compounds. Primary producers of rubidium are Cabot Performance Chemicals (Boyerstown, Pennsylvania), MSA Research Corporation (Callery, Pennsylvania), and CM Chemical Products, Inc. (Berkeley Heights, New Jersey). Research quantities of rubidium in standard and specialized ampuls are available from Strem Chemicals, Inc. (Newburyport, Massachusetts).
