The supply and demand for mbidium compounds has grown steadily since the 1970s. In 1979 the U.S. demand was ca 1040 kg of contained mbidium (16), and total world demand was estimated at approximately twice that of the United States. Reserves of mbidium in North America are estimated at 2 X 10 kg the United States is - 100% import-reliant for mbidium, and Canada is the principal source of the raw material (16). The demand for mbidium metal is small compared to the demand for mbidium compounds. Table 2 fists approximate prices of mbidium metal and mbidium compounds. Primary producers of mbidium are Cabot Performance Chemicals (Boyerstown, Pennsylvania), MSA Research Corporation (Callery, Pennsylvania), and CM Chemical Products, Inc. (Berkeley Heights, New Jersey). Research quantities of mbidium in standard and specialized ampuls are available from Strem Chemicals, Inc. (Newburyport, Massachusetts). [Pg.279]

The copper complex 1s available from Strem Chemicals, Inc., under the name cuprous triflate (benzene complex). The checkers recommend handling the material In a dry box because of Its high moisture and air sensitivity. [Pg.130]

Strategic Materials Corporation, See Stratcor (US) Strem Chemicals Inc. [Pg.249]

Osmium tetraoxide was purchased from the Strem Chemicals Inc. [Pg.203]

Compound 23 is the most active of the only two commercially available (Strem Chemicals, Inc.) ROMP catalysts (the other one being the corresponding nonfluorinated product). Its availability prompted the author to test it before similar catalysts that contain tungsten as a core metal and that have been shown to be more stable and more active than the molybdenum ones molybdenum catalysts seem, nevertheless, to tolerate more functionalities than the tungsten ones. [Pg.32]

Trimethyltin chloride can be purchased from Strem Chemicals, Inc. or prepared by the reaction of tetramethyltin with tin tetrachloride as follows To a 100-mL, round-bottomed flask, equipped with a magnetic stirring bar, and a septum, and a gas Inlet connected to a static argon atmosphere, containing 41.2 g (0.230 mol) of tetramethyltin cooled to -20°C with a dry ice/carbon tetrachloride slurry, is added 9.0 mL (0.0769 mol) of tin tetrachloride at a slow dropwise rate. After the addition is complete, the... [Pg.189]

Potassium hexafluorophosphate (Strem Chemicals Inc.) is used as received. Sodium hexafluorophosphate can be also used although it is much more expensive. [Pg.121]

Acetylacetonatobis(ethylene)rhodium(l) is commercially available from Strem Chemicals, Inc., although the submitters have prepared it according to a reported procedure. ... [Pg.191]

The compound can be purchased from Strem Chemicals Inc., Danvers, MA 01923. [Pg.100]

TheCSe2 is added directly from the shipping ampule (Strem Chemicals Inc., P.O. Box 212, Danvers, MA 01923) under a hood. [Pg.195]

UO3 is obtained from Strem Chemicals Inc., and concentrated HCl is available from Baker Chemical Co. Tetrahydrofuran and hexane are freshly distilled from benzophenone ketyl under nitrogen prior to use. Chlorotrimethylsilane is purchased from Aldrich and used without further purification. [Pg.94]

Available from Strem Chemicals, Inc., 7 MuUiken Way, Newburyport, MA 01950. All other chemicals including solvents can be purchased from Aldrich. [Pg.185]

All of the following manipulations are performed under argon using standard Schlenk techniques. Solvents are degassed and distilled under nitrogen immediately before use unless otherwise noted. (Cp RuCl2)2 is available from Strem Chemicals, Inc., and is used as received. Lithium borohydride, LiBEU (2.0 M in tetrahydrofuran), and borane tetrahydrofuran, BH3 THF (1.0 M in tetrahydro-furan), are available from Aldrich Chemical Co. and are used as received. Note that these solutions decrease in molarity depending on time and use, and, if solutions are not titrated before use, appropriate increases in the volumes of solution used may be required. [Pg.204]

Cyclooctadiene)- 2-(2-phenyl-5-methyl-4,5-dihydro-oxazol-4-yl)-l,3-diphenyl-2-diphenylphosphimte-propane mdium(l)]-tetrakis[3,5-bis(tri-fluoromethyl)phenyl]borate (1.72mg, l.Opmol). The catalyst is available from Strem Chemicals, Inc. (catalogue no. 77-5020). [Pg.47]

Palladium(ll) acetate (98%, Strem Chemicals Inc.), triphenylphosphine (99%, Fisher Scientific Co.), and sodium acetate (99%, Fluka Chemika) were used without further purification. N,N-Dimethylacetamide (DMA) was distilled from calcium hydride through a 25-cm Vigreux column directly before use. [Pg.75]

Diiron nonacarbonyl is available from Alpha Inorganics, Inc., or Strem Chemicals, Inc. The submitters made the complex through photolysis of iron pentacarbonyl by the method of King.4 Procedures for preparation are also given by E. H. Braye and W. Hubei, Inorg. Syn., 8, 178 (1966), in which the name diiron enneacarbonyl is used. [Pg.59]
