Radar charts

You can use radar charts to set the stage for ideating better products and services. A radar chart is a visual way of depicting the state of a system. [Pg.95]

Using all pertinent evolutionary trends, the team prepares a radar chart to depict its planned innovation. In doing so, the team expects it can move up one notch on the evolutionary scale for each of the two identihed trends. In the case of surface segmentation, the new design will move from a line to a two-dimensional curve. As for the geometric evolution of linear constructions trend, the team calculates that it can move from a surface with two-dimensional protrusions to one that displays three-dimensional protrusions. [Pg.98]

Construction of the graphic result of the evaluation as an Excel radar chart from the scores of the principles the higher the scores are, the fuller is the star, therefore a visual inspection provides an indication of the global greenness. [Pg.127]

The final step of the framework is to report through a radar chart the level of detail employed in the analysis of the retrofit design alternatives. Fig. 11.12 illustrates the radar for this specific case study. [Pg.270]

In this case, a Level I analysis has been performed for environmental and social aspects and a Level II analysis has been performed for economic aspects. This radar chart indicates that this company is not following a sustainable strategy, but it is already considering at a basic level the influence of sustainability issues in the retrofit design. [Pg.270]

Figure 6.7 shows the radar charts thus obtained for the three electricity storage devices studied in this book batteries, electrolyzer/fuel cell assemblies and supercapacitors. However, in order to illustrate the diversity of the performances achieved by electrochemical accumulators, we shall also discuss the results for a lead-acid battery and for a LiFeP04 battery. [Pg.288]

The radar chart shown in Figure 6 shows the evaluation result of system functionality by questionnaire in a five-grade scale for the following five functions. [Pg.7]

At Novartis, so-called BioavailabiUty Radar Plots [44] are used to visually display the oral absorption potential of molecules. On these plots five important calculated descriptors (log P, molecular weight, PSA, number of rotatable bonds and water solubility score [45]) are displayed on the axes of a pentagonal radar plot and compared with predefined property limits (green area) which were determined by the analysis of marketed oral drugs. These plots provide an intuitive tool that displays multiple parameters as a single chart in a straightforward but informative way, providing visual feedback about the molecule s bioavailabiUty potential (Fig. 5.5). [Pg.118]

The visualization is useful in understanding the details of the process through which the team decided their strategies and took appropriate decisions. From the result of analysis so far, we devised a flow chart model of interaction between the radar controller (RC) and the coordination controller (CC) based on the case study. The numbers assigned to each state shown in Figure 4 correspond to the state in the flow chart of Figure 3. [Pg.1730]

This chart also known as the radar maintenance Tavares (2007) by the American model, repeat graphic patterns in companies with the same problems in the maintenance function, so it is often used for a first approximation to reahty in company to audit. [Pg.1924]

Sensory data may contain many important details that will remain just a collection of results unless they can be presented in a concise, nnderstandable manner. The illustration in Figure 18.3 is a spider chart (aka Radar Profile) showing the results from a descriptive ballot evaluating a brewery s India Pale Ale (IPA) that meets the requirements of the brand profile and is considered True to Brand. (Full statistical approaches can be implemented for data analysis, and discussions can be found in the main references cited above and extensively in Lawless, 2013b and O Mahoney, 1986.)... [Pg.397]

Prior to the development of electronic instruments such as radio, radar, and Global Positioning System (GPS), the determination of one s position was accomplished using a sextant. The sextant was able to pinpoint one s location accurately by measuring the angular distance between the horizon and a celestial object. Repeated sightings were plotted on a nautical chart. This method was suitable for ships and propeller aircraft. [Pg.1266]

The observer of a supervisor s b aviom can be the direct manager or a third party, such as a safety professional. A procedure that has proved successful comprises a lisf of fifty behaviours that align with the overall safety initiative for thaf year (Figure 2.8.11) with the results plotted on a radar screen chart (Figure 2.8.12). Measurement occurred in several different ways which included ... [Pg.406]

We have charted the growth since 1995, and now almost 20 years later, we can see a maturing but still expanding and innovating sector. Much of this expansion has been under the radar , and therefore, it has not been visible as a market sector in its own right within packaging or nonwoven industry sectors. [Pg.423]

A radar-based system called Chart-Radar according to the IMO Performance Standards for Chart Radar. [Pg.111]

Input data to the algorithm are registered with the use of an Automatic Radar Plotting Aid (ARPA) and an Automatic Identification System (AIS). These information include the course and the speed of every ship, and the distances and hearings of the target ships from the own ship. For situations in restricted waters information concerning shoals, shorelines and other static obstacles are coUected from the Electronic Chart Display and Information... [Pg.154]
