Power data

Power consuiTmtion has also been measured and correlated with impeller Reynolds number. The velocity head for a mixing impeller can be calculated, then, from flow and power data, by Eq. (18-3) or Eq. (18-5). [Pg.1629]

Additional power data for other impeller types such as anchors, cui ved-blade turbines, and paddles in baffled and unbaffled vessels are available in the following references Holland and Chapman, op. [Pg.1630]

The interpretation of thermoelectric power data in most materials is a delicate job and this is particularly true for the case of carbons and graphites. In the case of SWCNTs the data are not consistent with those calculated from the known band structure which leads to much smaller values than observed. Hone et al. [11] suggest from their data that they may indicate that the predicted electron-hole symmetry of metallic CNTs is broken when they are assembled into bundles (ropes). [Pg.122]

Since 1992 a variety of related but much more powerful data-handling strategies have been applied to the supervised analysis of PyMS data. Such methods fall within the framework of chemometrics the discipline concerned with the application of statistical and mathematical methods to chemical data.81-85 These methods seek to relate known spectral inputs to known targets, and the resulting model is then used to predict the target of an unknown input.86... [Pg.330]

A systematic investigation of an electrolyzer response to rapid load variation was performed by operating the electrolyzer according to 1 s power data from a wind turbine, then according to 10,60, and 150 s averages as well as under the mean constant power for a time period of 24 h each [52]. The pressure and temperature values were not affected by... [Pg.178]

A power curve is a plot of the power function 4> or the power number Po against the Reynolds number for mixing ReM on log-log coordinates. Each geometrical configuration has its own power curve and since the plot involves dimensionless groups it is independent of tank size. Thus a power curve used to correlate power data in a 1 m3 tank system is also valid for a 1000 m3 tank system provided that both tank systems have the same geometrical configuration. [Pg.174]

Obtain power data using a non-Newtonian liquid and calculate the power number Po from equation 5.13 for various agitator speeds N. [Pg.177]

The scale-up of liquid mixing systems can be divided into two categories the scale-up of process result and the scale-up of power data. [Pg.183]

Multivariate calibration models are often built on an underdetermined data set, that is, more wavelengths than samples. The use of powerful data reduction techniques, such as PCR and PLS, makes assessing the model validity an extremely important aspect of the analysis procedure. Here, we present four important criteria on which to judge the validity of results from multivariate calibration. [Pg.340]

Air emissions testing data from five facilities were evaluated for this report. The results are summarized here, by pollutant. The most extensive testing was performed by WP L, who tested criteria pollutants, heavy metals, dioxins and furans, and other organic compounds. Table 6-2 summarizes test data for all criteria pollutants at WP L.18 Ohio Edison tested particulate, S02, NOx, and lead emissions results from this whole tire test are provided in Table 6-3.12 Illinois Power tested PM, metals, and S02 their emissions data are summarized in Table 6-4.4 In 1979, United Power Association performed two TDF tests at their Minnesota facility, and conducted air emissions tests during the first test burn for particulate, NOx, SOz, sulfuric acid, and chloride.17 These emission results are summarized in Table 6-5.17 Northern States Power tested TDF in their wood-fired utility boiler in 1982, without much success.9 Their emissions data are summarized in Table 6-6.9 Comparisons of the data from these plants are provided in the pollutant specific discussions that follow the Northern States Power data are not included with graphical summaries of the other four facilities, because its boiler is wood fired, while the other four co-fire the TDF with coal. [Pg.263]

Most manufacturers quote dimensional, capacity and installed power data for their range of disc agglomerators. One such set of data is given in Table... [Pg.67]

The capacity data in Fig. 3.12 range between Q = 0.5jD2 Mg/h and Q = 1,2jD2 Mg/h whereas the installed power data in Fig. 3.13 range from P = Q.6D2 kW to P=2.3jD2kW. These quite broad variations in capacity and power requirements may be explained by variations in rotational speed, pan depth and inclination, feed density and by different requirements in agglomerate properties such as size and porosity. The manufacturers quoted data are generally more conservative than those quoted by Pietsch [24], which is to be expected. [Pg.69]

Powerful data analysis programs are available (e.g., complex non-hnear least square fit or CNLS-fit). Error estimations for model parameters can be obtained. [Pg.257]

Estimate viscous power number for the helix impeller. A helical-ribbon impeller, also called a helix impeller, is used primarily when high-viscosity fluids are being processed. Most of the power data on such impellers have been obtained in the laminar and transitional flow ranges. The effect on power of common geometry factors, i.e., impeller diameter D, tank diameter T, helix pitch P, impeller height H, and helix (blade) width W, can be incorporated into a correlation for a (dimensionless) viscous power number ... [Pg.457]
