Post design phase

Usually clinical studies follow three consecutive phases, I, II, and III. An additional post-registration study may be required, designated Phase IV (Acceturi et al., 1997 CNS, 1997). In some instances, intermediate phases are carried out, I/II, Ia/Ib, etc. [Pg.365]

Cost-benefit analyses (CBA) for each building protection system might have to be updated several times during the life cycle of a system. The first round of cost-benefit analysis is used to get concept approval to proceed with a more detailed one. A detailed cost-benefit analysis would then be conducted early in the design phase of the protection system. After the detailed analysis has been completed, the development and implementation plans might call for a prototype system or a pilot phase to test the costs and benefits on a small scale before the full system is implemented for all users. If a pilot phase is needed, a third version of the cost-benefit analysis would reflect revised costs and benefits and would be used to decide whether to proceed with full implementation of the system. The post-implementation review of a system might require an updated cost-benefit analysis to determine whether the expected benefits are being achieved and to decide whether the operation of the system should continue as implemented or be modified to achieve benefits that justify continued operation. [Pg.100]

Like discovery-driven planning, stage-gate design places checkpoints in the development process for review of progress and outcomes. However, it only focuses on the pre-launch phase of the product life cycle, not the post-launch phase. Discovery-driven planning extends further into the product life cycle, covering both before and after launch periods of the product life cycle. [Pg.384]

Retrievability techniques, if required, have also been investigated and developed. The general feeling is that retrievability is technically feasible costs will depend on repository design and host rock. Inqilications of retrievability requirements on safety aspects during operational phase and post operational phase needs to be further assessed. [Pg.81]

A German study on retrievability of spent fuel in a salt repository provides the following information [24] Retrieval of spent fuel in the post-closure phase is possible by means of a specially designed mine. It takes about 19 months to recover the first cask. The technical and financial efforts... [Pg.256]

Conventionally, NA poisoning is treated by a combi-nahon of prophylactic and post-exposure therapy, which target the three post-exposure phases of neurotransmitter systems described. Prophylactic treatments are designed to circumvent aging of e NA-AChE complex and consist of carbamate anticholinesterases (e.g., pyridostigmine)... [Pg.1036]

Failure analysis statistics have consistently shown that many machinery components failures can be directly attributed the equipment being operated outside of design parameters or unintended conditions. Most failure analysis and trouble-shooting activities are usually post-mortem and commence after installation and start-up of the equipment. The maintenance phase is now in motion, and failure analysis and trouble-shooting is now an integral part of that phase. [Pg.1043]
