Planning Considerations for the Use of Robots. There are four points that must be considered when evaluating the feasibility of using a robot in materials handling. They are rate of handling, weight of the object, orientation of the object, and number of different items to be handled. 

The three areas of primary concern to industry are the nonattainment, air toxics, and permit provisions of the CAAAs.
