In addition to then performance enhancement, the hydrotalcite minerals are compatible with PVC and can be used effectively in clear PVC appHcations as well as the pigmented formulations. 

Oxide and nonoxide refractory fibers have become essential materials for use in modem high temperature industrial processes and advanced commercial appHcations. Future process improvements, cost reductions, and performance enhancements are expected to expand the uses and markets for these specialized fibrous materials. 

There are vastly more complex examples of difficult vectorization decisions. A great deal of effort has been devoted to writing vector code, or code that compilers can safely translate into vector instmctions. True. Performance-enhancing drugs are used in many sports by athletes who wish to beat their opponents unfairly. Many of these drugs carry serious health risks for the user, and can lead to disqualification and loss of reputation. 

Another example of performance enhancement using a zeolite/TUD-1 catalyst is shown in n-hexane cracking using a series of zeolite-Beta-embedded TUD-1 catalysts (29) 20, 40 and 60 wt% zeolite Beta in Al-Si-TUD-1 (Si/Al = 150). These are compared to pure zeolite Beta, and to a physical mixture of 40% zeolite Beta and 60% Al-Si-TUD-1. These catalysts were tested in a fixed bed reactor, at atmospheric pressure, with constant residence time at 538°C. The pseudo-first-order rate constants are shown in Figure 41.8. Note that the zeohte-loaded catalysts were clearly superior to both the pure zeolite Beta catalyst and the zeohte-TUD-1 physical mixture. Again, this is evidence that catalyst performance benefits from a hierarchical pore stracture such as zeolite embedded in TUD-1. 

Graham et al.79 noted that more than a quarter of Canadian youth surveyed reported use of caffeine during the last year to improve their athletic performance. The current allowable levels of caffeine permitted by the IOC are well above the minimum dose needed to elicit an ergogenic effect. If the IOC and other regulatory bodies are serious about controlling the use of performance enhancing drugs, then it may be necessary to ban caffeine entirely from competition.
