This subclass also includes heptenophos, which is primarily used for control of aphids in agricultural, horticultural, and ornamental crops cherry fruit fly, psylla, and phorid fly on mushrooms and mealybugs, whiteflies, and thrips in greenhouses. Its oral LD50 in rats is 96-121 mg/kg. 

Some other species in the family Meliaceae are of commercial importance as sources of lumber, or as ornamental plants in horticulture. 

Species of the myrtle family provide many valuable products, including timber (e.g. Eucalyptus), essential oils (e.g. allspice), and horticultural plants (e.g. ornamentals such as Verticordia and food plants such as Psidium, guava). 

Foliar applications of micronutrients are useful for rapidly correcting deficiencies, or for plant utilization of some nutrients such as Fe, which may be immobilized when applied to calcareous soils. Foliar application may also be more practical for valuable horticultural crops such as fruit trees, vegetable crops, and ornamentals. Great care must be exercised in applying foliar sprays because of the possibility of damage to foliage. 

Fenthion is a broad spectrum insecticide. When applied as a surface spray, it controls adult mosquitoes and other insect pests and spiders in agricultural, horticultural, and home garden use. Recent reports indicate that resistance to fenthion has developed in some species of mosquitoes. Fenthion is used in dermal application for treatment of swine and cattle for control of lice, flies, and ticks, and in flea and tick treatments for pets. It is also used in aqueous applications to kill dragonfly larvae in ornamental fish production ponds. Fenthion is an effective avicide, and has been marketed to control birds considered to be pests.

Moreover, the flowers often possess highly scented odor. As a result, plants of the family Amaryllidaceae, especially the genus Narcissus species (daffodils), have been horticulturally cultivated as ornamental plants for centuries. 

Horticultural varieties are widely grown as ornamental garden plants. 

An easy to use emulsifiable liquid organic based copper fungicide for effective control of many diseases caused both by bacteria and fungi on horticultural, field, and ornamental crops. The active ingredient is the copper salts of fatty and rosin acids, which is neutral in pH, is not corrosive or abrasive to spray equipment, and the copper salt of the rosin acids provides the product ability to stick to the plant foliage. It is effective and labelled for application through well maintained overhead irrigation sprinklers.
