The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) NFPA is non-profit organization that publishes the National Electrical Code , the Life Safety Code , the Fire Prevention Code , the National Fuel Gas Code , and the National Fire Alarm Code . Chemical hazard pictorial Several different pictorials are used on labels to indicate the level of a chemical hazard. The most common is the "fire diamond NFPA (National Fire Prevention Association) pictorial shown at left. A zero indicates a minimal hazard and a four indicates a severe risk.
