Although many of these incentives are generally limited to the poorest regions of the country, where natural economic advantages to meet present-day opportunities are few, they are also widespread in developing countries. 

It is worth noting that the past few years have witnessed tremendous development of web-based information resources. Notably, the PubMed search tool [4] has made the investigation of any life sciences topic much easier. It offers keyword and author (as well as structure and sequence) searches and covers a wide range of medicinal chemistry-related journals. This resource, coupled with e-journals, affords the medicinal chemist the tools to keep up with any research topics of interest. Because of the public nature of the Web, now a chemist can sometimes find critical journal articles on the Web that do not show up until much later in traditional literature sources. It is not uncommon that scientific meeting presentations can be found on the Web. Indeed, the Internet tools we have all become familiar with also have made the professional life of the medicinal chemist much easier.

FTIR has shown the close similarity of most resins based on Bis-Phenol A and has helped narrow the focus of development on the curative as the principal contributor to successful formulation. As discussed in the previous section, gas oils are complicated mixtures of several different hydrocarbon classes contaminated with small amounts of sulfur-containing species that lower product quality and limit marketability of the whole gas oil (see Fig. 1). The concentration of these sulfur species must be lowered significantly to meet present standards and, in the future, they must be nearly completely removed. To understand the difficulties in such conversions, it is helpful to consider the detailed composition of gas oils, from both the viewpoint of the desirable components of gas oils which are not to be converted and that of the sulfur-containing species which must be treated to extinction.
