Integrated Test Plan

The System Design Specification describes the application software from the application developer s point of view. It should be possible to set up the system exclusively using this specification. The System Design Specification is the basis for the module, and integration test plans should be developed with this aim in mind. The requirements defined in the functional desaiption must be fully implemented unless otherwise agreed.

Integrated Testing. Although the individual steps of the process have been demonstrated in laboratory experiments, testing of the entire system is necessary in order to proceed along the path to commercialization. The integrated testing is currently planned to be comprised of three sequential steps, i.e., the laboratory model, the process development unit (PDU), and the "pilot-scale" unit. 

Incremental integration testing is the antithesis of the nonincremental approach. The system is tested as subsystems before being tested as collections of subsystems finally, the complete system is tested. Errors should be easier to isolate and correct predictably, interfaces should be easier to test more comprehensively, and it should be easier to develop a systematic test plan. 

Written in advance, the test plan defines all test procedures with their pass/fail criteria, expected test results, test tasks, test environment for equipment and computers, criteria for acceptance and release to manufacturing, and the persons responsible for conducting these tests. The test plan also specifies those functions excluded from testing, if any. Individual tasks cover functional testing, simulation of incomplete functions as integration proceeds, mathematical proof of results, records of discrepancies, classification of defects and corrective actions. 

In 1999, DOE issued a solicitation seeking proposals to evaluate the technical and financial feasibility of projects known as EECP (early entrance coproduction plant). These plants are aimed at demonstrating the operations of advanced CTL technologies in integrated mode at pre-commercial or commercial scale units. OQ consists of a series of tests that will be based on the FDS of the LIMS and should include reference to the functional tests performed by the LIMS supplier as part of integration testing wherever possible. This may be achieved by utilizing the integration testing documents, which are then used as raw data for OQ, with the OQ inciuding any other specific tests to demonstrate compliance that are not within the scope of the LIMS supplier (e.g., environment tests, internal procedures, maintenance plans, etc). This will mean that there is no need for duplication of testing and makes the whole process more efficient in terms of time and cost.

The air quality class determines the type of HEPA filter (see Table 27.4) mounted in the inlet grid and the thereby raised air friction. All HEPA filters should be entered into a maintenance plan at least once a year a leakage test and a filter integrity test should be performed [5]. 

Proof test planning is an integral part of safety management planning and it is dictated by the need to maintain the functional safety of the system and should never be compromised with other aspects such as operation/production needs or business policies. As this is very much an object Oriented program, it is justifiable that suitable explanations will be made prior to its adoption.
