Instrumentation connector panel

It is of interest primarily for very uniform ultra-thin films and coatings (0.002-5 mils) in applications such as electrical resistors, thermistors, thermocouples, stator cores, connectors, fast-sensing probes, photo cells, memory units, dropwise steam condensers for recovery of sea water, pellicles for beam splitters in optical instruments, windows for nuclear radiation counters, panels for micrometeorite detection, dielectric supports for planar capacitors, encapsulation of reactive powders, and supports in x-ray and optical work. Any significant growth would depend upon a major breakthrough in process techniques and a consequent lowering in price. [Pg.21]

Glass-reinforced SMA polymers are used as electrical connectors, consoles, top pads, and as supports for urethane-padded instrument panels. There are seveial additional automotive uses. SMA aie also found in coffee makers, steam curlers, power tools, audio cassette components, business machines, vacuum cleaners, solar heat collectors, electrical housing, and fan blades, among others. [Pg.1557]

In order to let operators read the contents of this chapter in detail, besides provision of the circuit principle sketch of this car, the connecting diagram for carious kinds of wire bundle as well as the relevant connectors and terminal boxes are also illustrated here. Wherein, the terminal box in the engine compartment is defined as No. 2 and the box in the instrument panel is defined as No. l.And further, the introduction is also launched to the electric circuit one by one in a break-down manner as per the system, especially illustrating as follows ... [Pg.328]

Electrical, electronic, and technical applications use polycarbonates for a variety of purposes. The worldwide market is about 160,000 t annually. Because of excellent electrical properties (dielectric strength, volume resistivity) and resistance to heat and humidity, polycarbonate is used for electrical connectors, telephone network devices, outlet boxes, etc. Polycarbonate had been popular for use in computer and business machine housings, but the use of neat resin was largely supplanted by blends of polycarbonate with ABS. However, new, highly colored and special effect resins (translucents, flip-flop colors, speckles, etc) have recaptured a significant portion of that market. A total of 25,000-30,0001 of resin is used annually. Polycarbonate also has many technical uses in instrument panels and devices, especially for membrane switches and insulators. Optical quality polycarbonate is the only suitable material for the compact disc market. Since their introduction in 1983, compact discs have shown explosive growth in the consumption of polycarbonate, with utility for audio, video, and computer applications, reaching about 25,0001 of annual production. [Pg.5981]

The applications of PCs are extensive, emanating into all types of markets. A sample would include electronic connectors, switches, terminal blocks, computer disc packs, storage modules and housings, appliance power-tool housings, vacuum cleaner impellers, fan and air-conditioner grills, automotive instrument panels, indoor and outdoor lighting diffusers, medical kidney dialysers and blood oxygenators, and a host of others. [Pg.433]

The thermal switches are connected to a connector on the battery container from which a cable leads to a warning lamp situated on the instrument panel of the aircraft. [Pg.587]

To insure that no instrument can be made inoperative during the operation of the reactor by holding its reset button down, all reset buttons are included in the interlock circuit. Pushing one of these buttons physically breaks the continuity interlock circuit and causes a scram condition to exist. In addition, all cable connectors to the control and safety rods have two pins, which have been wired into the interlock circuit. Any connector which is not connected properly will therefore open the interlock circuit. If any of these circuits are interrupted, the "interlock open" light on the scram chassis panel will be lighted. [Pg.73]
