Select the inspection level as specified. If the inspection level is unspecified, normal inspection level II should be used. Some companies use past quality history as a guideline for selecting the inspection level. For example, if the supplier has mostly submitted good lots in the past, level I (reduced inspection) is used. Level III (tightened inspection) is used if lots have been mostly bad. Special inspection levels 5-1 through 5-4 may also be used for expensive as well as destructive-type inspections or for parts made with repetitive-type processes. [Pg.435]
