Marraccini JV, Thomas GE, Ongley JP, et al. 1983. Death and injury caused by methyl bromide, an insecticide fumigant. J Forensic Sci 28 601-607. [Pg.102]

The compounds profiled in this book include solvents, herbicides, insecticides, fumigants, and other hazardous substances most coimnoidy found in the groundwater and soil environment the organic Priority Pollutants promulgated by the U.S. Enviromnental Protection Agency (U S. EPA) under the Clean Water Act of 1977 [40 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 136, 1977] and compounds most commonly found in the workplace. [Pg.12]

Uses Moth and bird repellent general insecticide, fumigant and germicide space odorant manufacture of 2,5-dichloroaniline and dyes pharmacy agriculture (fumigating soil) disinfectant, urinal deodorizer, air freshener, and chemical intermediate in the manufacture of 1,2,4-trichlorobenzene and polyphenylene sulfide. [Pg.402]

Source Improper use of insecticidal fumigant formulation containing 1,2-dichloropropane and carbon tetrachloride (Granosan). [Pg.416]

Dichloropropene is a raw material in one pesticide. 1,3-Dichloropropene and the combined pollutants 1,2-dichloropropane-l, 3-dichloropropene are pesticide products as well as priority pollutants and function as insecticidal fumigants. [Pg.516]

Uses. Rodenticide and insecticide fumigant chemical intermediate for the manufacture of synthetic fibers, plastics, and nitrites... [Pg.389]

Uses. Solvent chemical intermediate insecticide, fumigant refrigerant... [Pg.479]

This compd other fluorobutanes are useful as thermally stable dielectric coolants insecticidal fumigants Refs 1) Beil, not found 2) E.E. Gilbert R.E.A. Dear (Ciba-Geigy Corp), USP 3646221(1972)... [Pg.417]

Chlorinated hydrocarbon Insecticides Fumigants DDT, Dieldrin, BHC, Aldrin, Endrin Lindane, Methoxychlor, Toxaphene CCI4 Acrylonitrite, Chloropicrin, Methyl bromide, Trichloroethane... [Pg.539]

Hydrogen cyanide, HCN (bp 26.5°C)—Hydrogen cyanide is used as insecticidal fumigant on citrus, in flour mills, in households, and on stored grains. Its inhalation LC50 (5 min) in rabbits is 503 ppm. [Pg.68]

Use Insecticide, fumigant use as insecticide may be restricted. Available as the dihydrochloride, salicylate, sulfate, and bitartrate. [Pg.888]

Use Extraction of gold and silver from ores, reagent in analytical chemistry, insecticide, fumigant, electroplating. [Pg.1029]

Materials which may affect other materials stored in their vicinity should be handled in accordance with a written procedure. Rodenticides, insecticides, fumigating agents and sanitizing materials should not be permitted to contaminate equipment, starting materials, packaging materials, in-process materials or finished products. Toxic substances and flammable materials should be clearly marked as such and should be stored in suitably designed, separate, enclosed areas as required by national legislation. Flammable substances should be kept away from corrosive or oxidant substances at all times. [Pg.259]

In further investigations of the relationship between other physicochemical properties of molecules and their biological responses, Traube in 1904 observed a correlation between surface tension and narcotic action (18). These data led Warburg to postulate a mechanism of narcotic action for these agents in 1921 (19). Similarly, in 1917 Moore noted that the boiling points of a series of insecticide fumigants paralleled their toxicities (20, 21). [Pg.132]

Bladafum . [Bayer] Sulfotepp insecticide fumigant for control of greenhouse pests. [Pg.51]

USE Insecticide fumigant. In the U.S. a 40% soln of nicotine sulfate, Black Leaf 40, was the commonly used form. As a contact poison it is most effective as soap, Le., as the laurate, oleate, or naphthenate. As a stomach poison a combination with bentonite has come into use. Caution Highly toxic. Symptoms indude extreme nausea, vomiting, evacuation of bowel and bladder, mental confusion, twitching, convulsions. Base is readily absorbed through mucous membranes and intact skin, but the salts are not. Treatment must be instituted quickly in order to be effective. See Clinical Toxicology of Commercial Products, R. E. Gosselin et at, Eds, (Williams Wilkins, Baltimore. 4th ed.. 1976) pp 246-249. [Pg.1030]

USE Oil and fat solvent in dry cleaning fluids in degreasing. In insecticidal fumigant mixtures. Caution May be irritating to eyes, mucous membranes, and in high concns, narcotic. Has caused liver, kidney uecrosis in exptl animals. [Pg.1247]
