Table 8.1 represents some of the enzymes (Jakoby and Ziegler, 1990) that participate in altering xenobiotics so as to make them either more readily excretable or less toxic for the storage. These enzymes have a preference for lipophilic compounds, although all hydrophilic compounds, are not excluded. Each enzyme has a phenomenally broad substrate range, and many appear to be inducible. The performance of each subject on the Number Facility Test after Injection was compared with his scores on the three validity scales and 10 standard scales of the Minnesota (hiltlphaslc Personality Index (MMPl). The best correlations between performance In the Number Facility Test and scores on scales In the MMPI for the men given atropine at 62 Mg/kg were with those In the h/pochondrlasls and mania scales. The best correlations for the men given atropine at 104 g/kg were with scores In the lie and mania scales. For the men given scopolamine at 11.8 pg/kg, the best correlations were with scores In the hypochondriasis and lie scales. If atropine and scopolamine are taken as representative of the group of tropic acid esters, the best Indexes of performance In the Number Facility Test under the Influence of such esters are the scores In the lie, l pochondrlasls, and mania scales of the MMPI. 

For biotechnological synthesis, there is a superb database containing information on miaobial biocatalytic reactions and biodegradation pathways for primarily xenobiotic, chemical componnds. The goal of the UM-BBD is to provide information on microbial enzyme-catalyzed reactions that are important for biotechnology.

In the context of an iterative design cycle (as advocated in BS/EN/ISO 11064-1 2001), additional strategies can be deployed to provide feedback of a sociotechnical or affective nature into the design process. Polylactic (NatureWork PLA 300ID) in pellet form was obtained from Nature-Work LLC, Minnetonka, Minnesota, USA. It has a density of 1.24 g/cm and melt flow index around 15 g/10 min (190 °C/2.16 kg). A MCC and CNWs was produced from OPEFB as the reinforcement filler. The production of MCC and CNWs was described in details elsewhere (Haafiz et al., 2013b,c, 2014). All chemicals were used as received and were secured from Merck, Malaysia.
