Inadequate results

Static fluid loss measurements, which are the present standardized testing method, provide inadequate results for comparing fracturing fluid materials or for understanding the complex mechanisms of viscous fluid invasion, filter-cake formation, and filter-cake erosion [ 1806]. On the other hand, dynamic fluid loss studies have inadequately addressed the development of proper laboratory methods, which has led to erroneous and conflicting results. 

The two-network method has been carefully examined. All the previous two-network results were obtained in simple extension for which the Gaussian composite network theory was found to be inadequate. Results obtained on composite networks of 1,2-polybutadiene for three different types of strain, namely equibiaxial extension, pure shear, and simple extension, are discussed in the present paper. The Gaussian composite network elastic free energy relation is found to be adequate in equibiaxial extension and possibly pure shear. Extrapolation to zero strain gives the same result for all three types of strain The contribution from chain entangling at elastic equilibrium is found to be approximately equal to the pseudo-equilibrium rubber plateau modulus and about three times larger than the contribution from chemical cross-links. 

Proper consideration of all of these variables is important if successful results are to be obtained. Shortcuts taken to save time in selection, preparation, or operation of the column may only result in inadequate results or delays. The reader is encouraged to study the few references cited to obtain a better understanding of the workings of a chromatographic column. 

Preparing the skin before a TCA-SAS peel helps prevent herpes and bacterial and mycotic infections. It also helps reduce the risk of inadequate results (thanks to combination with other treatments).

The occlusive mask sometimes comes unstuck around the edges of the mouth, and lip wrinkles are among the most difficult to treat. Lack of maceration where the mask has come unstuck can lead to inadequate results (Figure 35.1). 

Poor application technique can lead to inadequate results. The technique should be corrected and Lip Eyelid should be reapplied after 6 weeks. The second peel will heal more quickly than the first. 

Inadequate results are an acceptable complication when the patient has been forewarned and the practitioner is prepared to compensate and do a proper touch-up. It is unacceptable when the patient has not been warned of this possibility and the doctor does not provide the care the patient deserves. 

Phenol (Lip Eyelicf formula) if a full-face phenol peel does not produce adequate results, a second peel can be applied to the areas that did not respond to the first peel. The touch-up can be localized or full-face, if the condition of the skin permits and if there has been a long rest period. Skin regeneration after the second peel is much quicker, there is less edema and post-peel erythema is of a much shorter duration (2 weeks at the most). If a third phenol peel were indicated (in extremely rare cases of very thick skin, patients who smoke, or rapid resumption of facial expressions), it would most often be localized. The author has only once had to do a third phenol peel on the lip and cheek area after inadequate results on skin that was extremely oily and thick. Recovery was even faster after a third application of phenol and there was hardly any erythema. It should be noted that if a second phenol peel can boost inadequate results, a third phenol peel only brings a very slight improvement over the second.

Recently, some phenol formulas have been presented as allowing a full-face peel without any anesthetic. A phenol peel that can be applied to the whole face without any type of anesthetic is a more superficial phenol peel that does not induce regeneration of the reticular dermis of the same quality as the classic phenol peels. Less pain goes hand in hand with inadequate results the results of this type of phenol peel are the same as for a TCA peel to the papillary dermis and may not have much effect on wrinkles. The pain caused by these peels is also the same as for a TCA peel to the papillary dermis. It is pointless to put a patient through the risks of phenol toxicity only to get the results that a simple, non-toxic molecule (TCA) can achieve. An effective, full-face phenol peel should therefore be used with an anesthetic (see Chapter 33). 

Inadequate results are sometimes obtained with a single independent variable. This shows that one independent variable does not provide enough information to predict the corresponding value of the dependent variable. We can approach this problem, if we use additional independent variables and develop a multiple regression analysis to achieve a meaningful relationship. Here, we can employ a linear regression model in cases where the dependent variable is affected by two or more controlled variables. 

Amphiphilic molecules have been used as stabilizers in CO2 for the synthesis of polystyrene in high degrees of polymerization (>800) and high conversions (>95%) [117]. The stabilizers used in these experiments with PS were diblock copolymers of PS, the anchoring block, and PFOA, the soluble block [101], as initial attempts at using PFOA homopolymer as a stabilizer gave inadequate results. This observation indicates that the CO2-phobic nature of the PS block has a significant affinity for the polymer-solvent inter-... 

It occurs in very specific environmental and/or physiological circumstances, namely ID and pregnancy. The coexistence of both of these conditions, i.e. pregnancy in women whose iodine intake is inadequate, results in the highest risk of gestational hypothyroxinemia in the mothers. 

Thirdly, the operating temperature seriously affects the results of the separation. Separations done at low temperature for example as 4°C usually give inadequate results because of the weak binding of... 

In the following summers, we studied similar epidemiological outbreaks that, after an incubation period of a few hours, presented as diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain, without fever. This was associated to the consumption of steamed mussels. Patients would recover in 2 or 3 days. We contacted Dr. Kat and implemented the test she was developing in rats. The test gave inadequate results. This was probably due to methodological problems. 

If the acid/base concentration is reduced to 0.001% with inadequate results, then a normal phase development is probably the most suitable. Solutes that only have one functional group associated with the chiral center are more likely to be resolved using the conventional normal phase or reversed phase modes. Optimization of the reverse phase separation is accomplished in the usual way, by adjusting the organic modifier concentration and the nature of the modifier. 

Thus in the superposition model six parameters are used for describing a certain type of the ligand field in a particular lattice. If the sum (5) is restricted to the nearest neighbours of the R ion, artificial overestimation of the short-range interaction occurs. Disregard of the electrostatic component of the crystal field brings about inadequate results when estimating parameters B29 of tbe crystal field quadrupole components and the parameters of electron-phonon interaction (Newman 1978). 

Empirical models, sometimes called database models, exist at the other extreme of the modeling spectrum from deterministic models. Empirical (or phenomenological models) are based on the philosophy that everything that can ever be known must have been observed. Accordingly, these models are very restrictive and are not a good choice for exploring the outside limits of the data used to develop the model. For example, if an empirical model is developed based on observation of the corrosion of iron in an acidic medium, the use of that model for the corrosion of the same iron in a basic medium will give inadequate results.

A further evidence that a fixed dose of 750 mg/day chenodeoxycholic acid is inadequate results from the observation that higher dissolution rates were obtained in those patients with less than ideal body weight and consequently receiving and higher dosage per kg/body weight (4). 

The manner in which the formulation of THC affects the biological performance has been examined by two groups [168, 169]. Polysorbate 65-sorbitan monolaurate mixtures appeared to confer a longer duration of action by the intraperitoneal or subcutaneous route when compared with a PVP suspension and polysorbate 80 dispersion. Contrary to these findings, Sofia et al. [169] find 1 % polysorbate 80 to be a poor vehicle for oral, s.c., i.p. or i.v. administration producing inadequate results when compared to a PVP dispersion or a dispersion in propylene glycol. The most suitable vehicle did, however, contain 1 % polysorbate. The divergent opinion no doubt arises from the fact that the preparations are dispersions or emulsions and their mode of manufacture differs from laboratory to laboratory. Particle size and stability will thus vary.
