Hydrocotyle

Hydrocotyle has mild diuretic, antirheumatic, dermatological, peripheral vasodilator, and vulnerary properties. Traditionally, it is used for rheumatic conditions, cutaneous affections, and as a topical application for indolent wounds, leprous ulcers, and cicatrization after surgery. [Pg.97]

Ispaghula is believed to have demulcent and laxative properties. Traditionally, ispaghula has been used in the treatment of chronic constipation, dysentery, diarrhea, and cystitis. It may applied topically as a poultice for furunculosis. [Pg.97]

The traditional system of medicine of the Pacific Rim uses approx 80 species of Apiaceae, for instance, Centella asiatica (L.)
