Injection-molded articles can be decorated by in-mold labeling or by post-mold decoration. In the former method, printed film is inserted into the mold cavity before injection. The plastic forms an intimate contact with the graphic material. Post-mold decoration includes hot stamping, dry offset printing, and decal printing. 

Articles of circular cross section may be made in iron paste molds. To keep the inner surface of the paste mold moist, it is coated with shellac or varnish and a mixture of charcoal and linseed oil is baked on. Hot iron molds ate used for ware of any shape, particularly for screw threading, multiple decoration, or raised lettering. 

The rigidi d thermoplastic sheet - Tiocess combines thermoplastic sheet vacuum forming with a spray-up or cold press molding process to add a thermoset composite stmctural backing to a decorative thermoplastic skin. Large parts such as bathtubs, hot tubs, recreation vehicle components, and camper tops have been produced by this process. 

Both functional and decorative coatings can be appHed to paper from latices. The aqueous dispersions can be used on conventional paper converting machinery which usually cannot handle hot melts and solvent coatings. The lack of fire hazard because of absence of solvents is an added advantage of the latex system. 

Consumers expectations depend on several factors including cultural background, past experiences, desire for color coordination, esthetic appeal, local customs, fads, etc. Thus, eg, a Texas red hot sold ia the South is often colored quite differently than one sold ia the North, Midwesterners prefer butter with a deep yellow color, and on birthdays the decoration on a boy s cake are often blue and those on a gid s are often pink. 

Filament is prepared by extrusion followed by hot stretching. It may be used for brush bristles or for decorative purposes such as in the manufacture of woven lampshades. 

Sublimation (diffusion) printing is a textile process in which color patterns in dry die crystals are transferred from a release film to the fabric under high heat and pressure. The process has been adapted to plastics. The equipment used is very similar to that used for hot stamping. Under heat and pressure, the dye crystals sublime (go directly to the vapor phase from the solid phase without melting) and the vapor penetrates the plastic product. As a result, the decoration is very durable and wear resistant. It is also cost competitive against other processes such as two-step injection molding or silk screening. 

Hot, molten glass is thick and cohesive it can be shaped, and, as it cools down, it hardens while keeping its shape. Solid glass is extremely tough, withstands compression better than steel, is impervious to liquids, and is resistant to chemical attack. All this makes glass useful for making utilitarian artifacts, such as containers for solids and liquids, as well as ornamental and decorative objects (Tite et al. 2002 Tait 1991). 

The carbon monoxide prevents reoxidation of the hot copper. A further temperature rise to about 900°C results in the copper and gold (or silver) at the surface of the parts interacting to form a eutectic. The eutectic melts and runs freely, wetting the surface as well as the attached wires or granules. When the assemblage is finally cooled, the eutectic solidifies, firmly joining the wires or granules to the now decorated surface. 

Gravel and slate waste are good around plants that like dry, hot conditions. A mulch membrane beneath the gravel will stop them from working down into the soil and hence make these decorative mulches last longer.
