Release film

In the case of some types of polyesters, the dried treated sheet is very tacky, and must be interleaved with a plastic release film to prevent blocking in the roU prior to use. Certain polyesters and acryhcs can be converted to a gelled state by exposure to actinic radiation. [Pg.533]

Verification film has drawbacks that render it useless for some assemblies. For bonded assemblies with complicated tooling and/or multiple layers of adhesive, the additional thickness of the release film plies can cause the verification film to be non-representative of an actual bonded assembly. Details can be moved out of their normal positions Just enough to prevent them from fitting coirectly or tooling from performing correctly, resulting in false indications of problems... [Pg.1168]

Sublimation (diffusion) printing is a textile process in which color patterns in dry die crystals are transferred from a release film to the fabric under high heat and pressure. The process has been adapted to plastics. The equipment used is very similar to that used for hot stamping. Under heat and pressure, the dye crystals sublime (go directly to the vapor phase from the solid phase without melting) and the vapor penetrates the plastic product. As a result, the decoration is very durable and wear resistant. It is also cost competitive against other processes such as two-step injection molding or silk screening. [Pg.545]

The effect of various chemical modifications on the mechanical properties of reconstituted collagen and the diffusion rates of the steroid medroxyprogesterone was investigated (38). Formaldehyde-treated films, which are heavily crosslinked, have high moduli and low rates of drug release. Films treated with chrome quickly become hydrated in solution and have low moduli and very rapid drug release characteristics. [Pg.234]

One of the most important advantages of HPLC over spectrophoto-metric methods lies in its specificity and selectivity due to its separation capability. Through chromatographic separations, the analytes of interest can be detected and quantified without interference from the typical matrix that includes excipients, antioxidants, preservatives, and dissolution media. Ion-pair HPLC was used to monitor the dissolution of pentamidine from EVA sustained-release film where polymeric matrices could create significant bias if a spectrophotometric method were used. Due to their strong UV absorbance, the antioxidants and preservatives (e.g., BHA, BHT, ascorbic acid and propyl gallate) are often the major... [Pg.384]

Materials that form a permeable membrane include fats, bee wax, carnauba wax, cetyl alcohol, cetylsteryl alcohol, zein, acrylic esters, silicone elastomers, and ethylcellulose (14). Aqueous dispersions of water-insoluble polymers are commonly used for sustained-release film coatings. Examples of commercially available aqueous polymer dispersions include Surelease-containing ethylcellulose, Aquacoat-containing... [Pg.186]

TPX is used in mold-releasing films, printed circuit mold-releasing materials, various containers, etc., because of its heat resistance, chemical resistance, mold-releasing properties, transparency and other properties (4). In application areas, which require mechanical strength, gas barrier properties and high temperature mechanical strength, among other properties, composites are needed. [Pg.124]

TEDLAR films are supplied with different surface characteristics. A (one side adherable) and B (both sides adherable) surfaces are used with adhesives for bonding to a wide variety of substrates. These surfaces can be bonded with a variety of adhesives, including acrylics, polyesters, epoxies, elastomeric adhesives, and pressure-sensitive mastics. The S surface has excellent antistick properties and is being used as a mold-release film for parts made from epoxies, phenolics, elastomers, and other polymeric materials.94... [Pg.53]

Cast PTFE films can be laminated with different substrates, most frequently with PTFE-coated glass and aramid fabrics. They also can be metallized, in particular with aluminum for use in electronics. Other applications include as release films for the manufacture of composite materials for aerospace vehicles, in electronics and electrical industries, as selective membranes, and in the chemical industry. [Pg.135]

SEPIFILM and SEPISPERSE Dry are ready-to-use, immediate-release, film coating compositions designed for pharmaceutical and nutritional supplement applications. Based on a unique technology, SEPIFILM/SEPISPERSE Dry are granular forms offering the following benefits ... [Pg.1022]

Two concrete blocks were carefully bonded by inserting a carbon fiber sheet with the adhesive resin and cured at room temperature for 48 hours as the manufacturer s recommendation. A thin releasing film was inserted between the concrete blocks and carbon fiber sheet to introduce an artificial crack and to make an adhesive region of 20 x 10 mm The blocks were then bonded to the steel jigs with the same adhesive resin, as shown in Fig. 11. A liquid type primer was used to gain the adhesiveness of the interface between the concrete and carbon fiber sheet. [Pg.336]

Viscosity is an important factor. Standard PDMS oils spread well and form an efficient release film on the mold surface, but they do not perform in this application when paintability of the demolded articles is required. [Pg.691]
