Modem NDT film systems (with Pb screens) are very linear X-ray detectors. This is shown in fig.l for different NDT film systems and a X-ray tube at 160 kV. Note that for histoncal reasons the film response curve is often plotted as film density versus log (radiation dose), which hides this linear relationship. Protein-Based Adhesives. Proteia-based adhesives are aormaHy used as stmctural adhesives they are all polyamino acids that are derived from blood, fish skin, caseia [9000-71 -9] soybeans, or animal hides, bones, and connective tissue (coUagen). Setting or cross-linking methods typically used are iasolubilization by means of hydrated lime and denaturation. Optical. The optical properties of fillers and the influence that fillers have on the optical properties of filled systems are often misunderstood. The key parameters in understanding the optical properties of fillers themselves are filler psd, color, and index of refraction. These characteristics influence the optical properties of filled composition, such as color, brightness, opacity, hiding power, and gloss. [Pg.367]

When used for superresolution, the laser beam is incident on b, which hides the domains in s. During read-out, b is heated and the domains in s are copied to b. The optical system sees only the overlap area between the laser spot and the temperature profile which is lagging behind, so that the effective resolution is increased.
