German National Institute

At the German National Institute, the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) in Braunschweig, a miniature trap was designed to store Yb with a ring of 1.3 mm diameter. The oven and the filament act as compensation electrodes to control ion micro-motion in three dimensions [35].

Haber stood firmly on the side of reverence, tradition, and loyalty. Einstein was all critique, disdainful of conventional wisdom and established institutions, scornful of ties to community or nation. As a teenager, he had taken the remarkable step of formally renouncing his German nationality. While Haber possessed a gift for loyal and devoted friendship, at least toward men, Einstein felt truly bound to no one.

The development of the enzyme data information system BRENDA was started in 1987 at the German National Research Centre for Biotechnology in Braunschweig (GBF) and is now continmng at the Technical University Braunschweig, Institute of Bioinformatics Systems Biology. The present book Springer Handbook of Enzymes represents the printed version of this data bank. The information system has been developed into a full metabolic database. 

Program and the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, as well as the Indian Council of Medical Re,search, released funds for MIC toxicity studies. It should nonetheless be noted that most of the post-Bhopal animal Studies (Alarie et al., 1987 Bucher et al., 1987 Dodd et al., 1987 Fowler el al., 1987 Neinery ei al., 1985b), reviewed by others (Bucher, 1987 Nemery et al., 1987 Varma and Guest, 1993 Dhara and Dhara, 2(X)2), merely confirm the results of the 1964 study by Kimmerle and Ebcn published in German, which was not taken note of by isocyanate toxicologists and even by the Union Carbide authorities.
