NORMAN (2009) - 6th EU framework programme project (Network of reference laboratories and related organisations for monitoring and bio-monitoring of emerging environmental pollutants), http //www.norman-network.net... [Pg.223]

The following EU framework programmes have been reported during the survey by various of the... [Pg.196]

In order to answer those needs specified above, a collaborative effort (BIOSAFEPAPER) was undertaken in the fifth EU framework programme. In this project, coordinated by the University of Kuopio, Finland, nine European research institutes and 16 industrial partners aimed at establishing a test battery with relevant toxicological endpoints and allowing a decision-tree approach to ensure consumer safety. An important aspect of the undertaking was also the development of extraction procedures compatible with the tests and reflecting real-life conditions. [Pg.343]

The authors would like to take this opportunity to thank several research agencies for their own work in astrochemistry in the UK the CCLRC, EPSRC, NERC and PPARC Research councils, The Royal Society and The British Council as well as the Open University. Such research is necessarily international and we therefore whish to thank the EU Framework programme and the European Science Foundation for their support in conducting research and for integrating the European Community in common research projects. [Pg.78]

EU Framework Programmes. They indeed provide knowledge of the ways in which the European level works and of the possibility of developing networks for collaboration with experts in both scientific and policy fields at the European level. Participation also strengthens the science base in conntries, thns providing for strong science , which many consider important in policy development. [Pg.443]

Strauss P. et al., 2003, Evaluated model on estimating nutrient flows due to erosion/runoff in the case study areas selected, Deliverable D2.1 of the project "Nutrient Management in the Danube Basin and its Impact on the Black Sea" (daNUbs) supported under contract EVK1-CT-2000-00051 by the Energy, Environment and Sustainable Development (EESD) Programme of the 5th EU Framework Programme, http //danubs.tuwien.ac.at/. [Pg.64]

Research supported in part by COOPERS (Co-Operative Networks for Intelligent Road Safety, www.coopers-ip.en), an integrated project funded by the EU within priority Information Society Technologies (1ST) in the sixth EU framework programme (contract no. FP6-IST-4-026814). [Pg.159]

The total budget proposed is ECU 16.3 billion, which is a 3% increase in the percentage of the EU s GDP represented by the new Framework Programme compared to the previous one. [Pg.931]

A number of handbooks and monographs are available with detailed descriptions of a variety of plant products and their use (Shahidi and Naczk, 1995). From a more practical point of view, an interlaboratory comparison between six university and industry laboratories of 17 extracts of spices, teas, coffees, and grape skin and of tomato peel slurry established within the framework of an EU sponsored programme, would be of interest (Schwarz et al, 2001). In this collaboration, detailed chemical analysis of the content of different phenolic compounds is compared with six antioxidant assays for the 17 extracts including different extraction procedures. [Pg.340]

FOOTPRINT (http //www.eu-footprint.org) is an EC 6th Framework Programme project aiming to develop computer tools to evaluate and reduce the risk of pesticides impacting on water resources in the EU SSPI-CT-2005-022704. [Pg.319]

SOCOPSE (http // www.socopse.se/) was an EU-funded project (2006-2009) within the sixth framework programme (FP6-2005-global-4, Topic II 3.1), with the overall objective to support the implementation process for the WFD by providing guidelines and a decision support system (DSS) for the management of priority substances (PS). [Pg.378]

The work has been supported by EU 5 Framework Programme projects (QLK5-1999-01267, QLK3-2000-01528, QLK3-2001-01676) and by domestic sources (OTKA, FKFP, OMFB, OM KFHAT). International collaboration within the EU network COST Action 841 is greatly appreciated. [Pg.29]

The European Union (EU) and its Member States promote responsible research in order to help society draw the maximum benefit from scientific inquiry and in order to protect the rights of citizens, researchers, and other members of society (EU 2007). All EU-funded research activities must comply with an ethical code according to Article 3 of the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6, 2002-2006) that states All the research activities carried out under FP6 must be carried out in compliance with fundamental ethical principles. No further guidance specifically directed toward the use of human data in the risk assessment of chemical substances is provided. [Pg.52]

Increased supportive activities forthe participation of Austrian R D entities in EU-Programmes (like the RTD Framework Programmes) ... [Pg.112]

The main EU funding instruments for research, technological development and demonstration are the Framework Programmes (FP), which are implemented mainly by calls for proposals. The FP5 is well advanced and about to be completed, and the FP6 is currently taking place. [Pg.195]

Compilation of this flavonoid database could not have taken place without funding from the Scottish Executive Environment and Rural Affairs Department (SEERAD), the Ministry of Agriculture Fisheries and Food, UK, and the EU Framework V Programme. We are also grateful to Dr Geraldine McNeil for much needed help and advice. [Pg.246]

Financial support of our research on aquatic fungal ecology from the US National Science Foundation and through the EU 5th Framework Programme, project RivFunction is gratefully acknowledged. [Pg.428]

This work was financed by Research in Brussels (grant No. RIB-96/32) and the EU 5 Framework Programme (Contract No. ENK5-2000-00305). [Pg.165]

Three common food borne pathogenic bacteria were transformed with plasmids carrying the lux genes in order to evaluate wet and dry surface pasteurisation of food surfaces. The work was carried out within the Bugdeath programme, an EU Framework V collaborative project to develop predictive models for the surface pasteurisation of raw food materials, based on accurate data obtained from real food samples, heated in standardised, precisely controlled conditions. Previous models, based on indirect viable counts of bacteria, have been shown to be poor predictors of bacterial inactivation and recovery during heat treatment. [Pg.369]
