The Seventh Framework Programme

With a budget of over 50 billion, FP7 ran from 2007 to 2013, in line with the financial perspectives of the EU. Thus, FP7 was the largest publicly funded research programme in the world both in terms of budget and time covered [48]. [Pg.622]

The decision to align FP7 to financial perspectives resulted in extending the time frame to 7 years, and this gave the EC the possibility of gaining more experience of the ongoing FP and to have time for the evaluation and proper assessment of results, before starting the preparation of the next FP. [Pg.622]

FP7 was based on four major specific programmes cooperation ( 32.413 million). [Pg.622]

The Cooperation Programme, which aims to foster collaborative and transnational research on policy defined themes, according to a top-down approach, was clearly prioritised in terms of financing it absorbed nearly 65% of the overall budget. [Pg.623]

Health was a major theme of the Cooperation Programme and the EU earmarked a total of 6.1 billion for funding it over the duration of FP7, in order to support new medical technologies using, among others, new materials and biopolymers. [Pg.624]

The EUSAAR project of the Sixth Framework Programme of the European Commission is one of the steps towards a reliable and quality-controlled network of measurements [16]. The EUSAAR project improved and homogenized 20 European sites for measuring aerosol chemical, physical, and optical properties following a standardized protocol of instrument maintenance, measurement procedures, and data delivery in common format to a common database. EUSAAR also provided intercomparison and calibration workshops as well as training for the station operators. The work started in the EUSAAR is continued in ACTRIS infrastructure of the Seventh Framework Programme of the European Commission. [Pg.303]
