Establishing and Maintaining Communication

The lines of communication that were established in the toller selection phase can be formalized in the contract stage. The contract should spell out the persons to contact and under which circumstances they must be contacted. Detailed and continuing exchange of information is necessary in order to optimize the administration and performance of the tolling contract. The parties may want to come to agreement and include the following in the contract or supporting documentation to enhance communication  [Pg.59]

As with any relationship involving two or more parties, communication is key to a successful tolling relationship. [Pg.59]

The challenge posed by establishing and maintaining communication between distributed controllers has also stimulated research in the area of networked process control (El-Farra et al. 2005, Mhaskar et al. 2007, Sun and El-Farra 2008, 2010). The central issue of maintaining closed-loop stability in the presence of bandwidth constraints and limitations in transmitter battery longevity is typically addressed by a judicious distribution of computation and communication burdens between local/distributed control systems and a centralized supervisory controller. [Pg.8]

Communication should be established and maintained between people on the ship, the berth and at the storage installation during loading/unloading. [Pg.481]

The standard requires a procedure to be established and maintained for communicating information on service concerns to manufacturing, engineering, and design activities. [Pg.543]

Each operating company shall establish and maintain liaison with utility, fire, police, and public officials and public communications media. [Pg.67]

The final, and yet perhaps the highest priority of all, is to improve the awareness and knowledge base within the ocean science community as to the availability and optimal use of reference materials. To ensure quality control of measurements in ocean sciences, it is paramount to establish and maintain a database of reference materials, and to make available short courses in reference material use. [Pg.113]

If sorption and partitioning mechanisms dominate the fate of PAHs in soils, then the PAHs remaining in SOM should be primarily parent compounds which are sorbed to organic surfaces. Slow rates of desorption become the primary limitation for biodegradation however, the presence of adapted PAH-minerali-zing communities in contaminated soils suggests that PAH desorption occurs at sufficient rates over time to establish and maintain adapted microbial communities [36,264,356]. PAH biodegradation appears to proceed, albeit at much slower rates than predicted or desired [264,278,279]. [Pg.381]

With federation, databases can become part of the same information system because they share common communication language(s). Each database in a federated data system is free to establish and maintain its own data model. The utility of such a system is critically dependent upon the ability of each participating database to process queries using common protocols. It is only required that databases in such a system understand the languages that are appropriate for their local data model. It is not required (nor particularly desirable) that all databases understand all query languages. [Pg.244]

Company name) has determined, established, and maintained the infrastructure needed to achieve conformity to product requirements. Infrastructure includes, but is not limited to, buildings, workspace, and associated utilities. Process equipment, both hardware and software, and supporting services such as transport or communication are reviewed and established on a continuous basis. [Pg.76]

Narrowly focused, the tenets of 21 CFR 11 are indisputable that firms must establish and maintain the integrity of their electronic information. What has been lost is the clear indication of which electronic information the requirements apply to. In my opinion, data generated outside a computerized system, that are manipulated by that system and are ultimately available in hard copy should not be subject to this ruling. Validation of the computerized system should be more than sufficient to establish that the final documentation accurately reflects the input information. In that instance, the computerized system is little more than a tool whose functionality can be readily established, yet firms are endeavoring to assure 21 CFR 11 compliance for numerous systems in which the computer is little more than an adjunct to the cGMP activity and corresponding hard copy. Batch record preparation, SOP and test method archives, and many process equipment control systems are examples of systems in which requirements for 21 CFR 11 compliance appear excessive. A system that processes or communicates data or records and subsequently retains and stores hard copies should not be subject to the 21 CFR 11 requirements. Far too many systems are being unnecessarily held to the very restrictive portions of 21 CFR 11. Electronic record retention as defined in 21 CFR 11 has its place, but not necessarily in every computerized system used within the industry. [Pg.114]

Association work necessarily involves communication with its members. Those working in this field have many more acquaintances among their peers and with representatives of the pharmaceutical industry. Establishing and maintaining contacts is an important part of this work. Those who enjoy interacting with people will especially enjoy this aspect of association life. [Pg.820]

Agents are able to establish and maintain data communication between software and a device or instrument and to communicate to the target software application server asynchronously. They are installed either on the computer that runs the source application or on a separate server if multiple regular transfer tasks are expected. [Pg.327]

Interaction between the pharmacist and the patient must occur to assure that a relationship based upon caring, trust, open communication, cooperation, and mutual decision making is established and maintained. In this relationship, the pharmacist holds the patient s welfare paramount, maintains an appropriate attitude of caring for the patient s welfare, and uses all his/her professional knowledge and skills on the patient s behalf. In exchange, the patient agrees to supply personal information and preferences, and participate in the therapeutic plan. The pharmacist develops mechanisms to assure the patient has access to pharmaceutical care at all times. [Pg.395]

The communication of the policy should assist in d onstrating the conunitment of top management and the organization to safety and health. It will increase awareness of the commitments made in the policy statement by explaining why the safety system is established and maintained, and also guide individuals to understanding their safety and health responsibilities and accountabilities. [Pg.105]

Establish and maintain an effective system of communication within the organization, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with all departments. Responsible for safety departmental staffing decisions, including hiring and retention of driver personnel, and development of measurable performance... [Pg.58]

A culture of safety does not just appear. It develops over time as the organization matures and encourages all those within an organization to question aspects of their jobs and to establish open lines of communication. An effective safety culture is established and maintained through many of the following traits ... [Pg.122]

Because the VDS compiles a real practitioner, the ego state of the VDS would be the same ego state of the real actual doctor. This would initiate transactional interachon between the avatar based on the ego of the medical doctor and the ego of the template selected from the database of universal templates. This interaction is an interpersonal competency for establishing and maintaining effective communication. [Pg.446]

The employer shall establish and maintain direct communications for coordination of activities with other employers whose operations at the jobsite affect or may affect the safety of employees underground. [Pg.681]

Marine technology at the time was developing rapidly. For example, radio technology allowed ships to maintain constant radio contact but there were no rules or guidance as to how such contact should be established and maintained. Had radio communication procedures been in place it is probable that many hves would have been saved. [Pg.55]
