The previous section has evidenced that NH3-SCR technology has been used successfully for more than two decades, to reduce NOx emissions from power stations fired by coal, oil and gas, from marine vessels and stationary diesel engines. NH3-SCR technology for high-duty diesel (HDD) vehicles has also been developed to the commercialization stage and is already available as an option in the series production of several European truck-manufacturing companies starting from 2001. For mobile source applications, the preferred reductant source is aqueous urea, which rapidly hydrolyses to produce ammonia in the exhaust stream. [Pg.14]

The statistical degree of overlapping (SDO) and 2D autocovariance function (ACVF) methods have been applied to 2D-PAGE maps (Marchetti et al., 2004 Pietrogrande et al., 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006a Campostrini et al., 2005) the means for extracting information from the experimental data and their relevance to proteomics are discussed in the following. The procedures were validated on computer-simulated maps. Their applicability to real samples was tested on reference maps obtained from literature sources. Application to experimental maps is also discussed. [Pg.81]

Conduction with Heat Source Application of the law of conservation of energy to a one-dimensional solid, with the heat flux given by (5-1) and volumetric source term S (W/m3), results in the following equations for steady-state conduction in a flat plate of thickness 2R (b = 1), a cylinder of diameter 2R (b = 2), and a sphere of diameter 2R (b = 3). The parameter b is a measure of the curvature. The thermal conductivity is constant, and there is convection at the surface, with heat-transfer coefficient h and fluid temperature I. ... [Pg.5]

Choi and Shin et al. reported the fabrication of Si/Silica/Er2Si207 coreshell NWs of about 120 ran in diameter, grown vertically on Si substrates by the vapor-liquid-solid mechanism in an Si-Er-Cl-H2 system using Au catalyst, which is shovm in Eigure 54 (Choi et al., 2005). The NWs showed promising 1.54 pm Er + optical activity viable for light source applications. [Pg.386]

For comparison, it is usefiil to consider other common guideline sources applicable to short-term nerve agent release events. The US Department of Energy, in their development of 1 h Protective Action Concentrations/ Temporary Emergency Exposure Levels (PAC/TEELS), has chosen to replicate the published nerve agent-specific 1 h AEGL-1, -2, and -3 values as Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 PAC/TEEL values, respectively (see http //hss.energy.gov/ HealthSafety/WSHP/chem safety/teel.html). [Pg.56]

The rational design of improved D2-analogs has made use of several new computational strategies (52, 54—56). In 2004, Gordaliza et al. (57) reviewed the distribution, sources, application, and new cytotoxic derivatives of Dl. More recently, Lee and Xiao (58) also have reviewed podophyllotoxins and related analogs, including GL-331, to demonstrate how plant natural products can lead to successful preclinical drug candidates. [Pg.1182]

To provide a management that is transparent to the upper layers, these alarms have to be collected and analyzed, to pinpoint and solve the problem. Often, only a specific combination of alarms is meaningful. For instance, when simulation data is sent from one tool to another and the data flow stops, information on, e.g., the source host, the source application, the network, the network subsystem of the target host, or some combination of them can be the source of the problem. The process of finding a meaningful combination of alarms is called alarm correlation. Usually, a set of rules is defined that describes dependencies in a complex system and allows for locating the component which causes the problem. [Pg.418]

Agents are able to establish and maintain data communication between software and a device or instrument and to communicate to the target software application server asynchronously. They are installed either on the computer that runs the source application or on a separate server if multiple regular transfer tasks are expected. [Pg.327]

There are a number of control options for air toxics, particulates, SO and NOx- It is up to the chemical engineer to choose the most cost-effective control equipment for the source application. [Pg.661]

One of the drawbacks of the classical BCD for routine analyses, is the radioactive source it contains. A number of conditions must be met if the instrument, with its source, is to be shipped for field study or used in aircraft or mobile-source applications. Because of these problems and the oxygen and freon interferences with the BCD method, other detection schemes have been developed for PAN analysis to improve response time and avoid potentially hazardous materials. [Pg.720]

Ti) and line particles of quantiun size TiOs, respectively [15,16]. TS(120,60) showed the narrowest band around 220 nm (Fig.lc) due to the highly dispersed titanium oxide species [17,18]. This suggests that among the present Ti sources, the Ti(OBu)4 is the best Ti source applicable for preparation of the highly dispersed species in the present sol-gel method. [Pg.964]
