Deliverables

Package boilers can be shipped complete with fuel-burning equipment, controls, and boiler trim. It may be necessary to ship the larger units in sections, however, and a shop-assembled boiler with a capacity greater than about 109,000 kg/h (240,000 Ib/h) is deliverable only by barge. Kerridge has provided an excellent article on the interface betw een the operating company and the contractor to define all requirements in complete and standardized detail. This includes who is responsible for every deliverable. The operating company and contractor must work as a team. An example of one area that needs to be reviewed often with the contractor is the provision of secondary systems as packages, perhaps from a third party. Such systems can easily become orphans. This problem is discussed in the Process Definition section of Chapter 16. 

The storage capacity of an ANG storage system is always greater than its delivered capacity, usually by about fifteen percent. For some carbons, however, it can be as high as thirty percent because of the large amount of methane which is held by the adsorbent at less than one bar, (0.1 MPa). Carbons which are very microporous, such as polyvinylidene chloride (PVDC) carbons, tend to have very steep initial slopes to their methane isotherm, and as much as thirty percent of their overall uptake occurs at less than 0.1 MPa. These carbons have a high storage capacity but a much lower deliverable VfV. 

A statement of work which you require the subcontractor to perform - it might be design, development, management, or verification work and will include a list of required deliverables such as project plans, quality plans, production plans, drawings, test data, etc. You need to be clear as to the interfaces both organizationally and technically (see Part 2 Chapter 4).

The two deliverables from the field residue trial will be the samples, properly labeled, packed and shipped, and the field notebook, filled out correctly and completely. It is important that the Principal Investigator realize that all notations and calculations are made directly in the field notebook, not transcribed, and in ink.
