Some components may be fabricated at the dedicated assembly facility others will be purchased from outside vendors. In addition to the reactor assembly, it is envisioned that the turbine generator and several building structures will constitute the major assemblies. The major assemblies will be delivered to the site as modules. Some components, materials, and services will be purchased locally. The site must be prepared, the modules installed and connected together. Operational costs will include the costs of operating the reactor system and the turbine/generator. Decommissioning costs have also been considered, but on a present value basis they are minimal. [Pg.599]

Dedicated assembly systems are special purpose, fully mechanized or automated systems for composing previously manufactured components and/or sub-assemblies into a complete product of unit of a product. Klaessens [14-17] developed a laboratory simulator , written in SIMULA, which by a question-answering session assembles the simulation model. SIMULA [18] is a programming environment dedicated to the simulation of queuing systems. Adjustable Workbench (PAW) instrument assembly. To fulfil the background requirements typical of rare event physics, particular care was dedicated to the selection and treatment of the materials used for the construction of CUORICINO the crystals where grown with low contamination materials in China and sent by ship to Italy where they have been optically polished with specially selected low-contamination powders. The mechanical structure of the array was made exclusively in OFHC copper and PTFE both these materials have an extremely low radioactive content. All the copper and PTFE parts of the mounting structure underwent a chemical treatment to remove any possible surface contamination.
