In 1986, Congress passed the Electric Consumers Protection Act (ECPA), which set the foundation for more efficient relicensing of hydropower facihties, enhanced competition among apphcants for relicensing, and ensured a balance between environmental interests and the need for hydropower development. 

A code of principles accepted by 71 countries has been developed for consumer protection and fair practice in the trade of milk and milk products. Mainly the precise usage of the term milk and terms for different milk products is ensured. Confusion arising from the substitution of milk and milk products with nonmilk fats and/or nonmilk proteins is thus avoided. The use of misleading names and information for products that are not milk products is prohibited. Essentially, any product that resembles a dairy product is an imitation or substitute (synthetic) product.

This has relevance to the supply of gas and plant burning gas, in particular section 6, as amended by the Consumer Protection Act 1987. 

Section 6 of the Act has been amended by the Consumer Protection Act 1987 and now imposes specific duties on manufacturers, importers, designers and suppliers to ensure that articles and substance supplied for use at work are safe and without risk to health. 

We can expect drastic changes in the food packaging industry. Some will arise from new consumer needs, new or expanded food supplies and products, and new food preservation systems such as aseptic packaging. Others will result from societally based constraints such as safety in health and hazardous use (as in the child safety closure legislation) and consumer protection against fraud, misinformation, or wrongful use where the burden for awareness is no longer on the buyer but on the supplier. Other such constraints will arise from environmental concerns or material scarcities.

Lobbying by other P-carotene producers — In addition to approvals of mixed carotenes from palm oil, P-carotene from Dunaliella microalgae, and other natural products, the EU Health and Consumer Protection Directorate General was asked for an opinion on the safety of P-carotene from a dried biomass source, obtained from a fermentation process with Blakeslea trispora for use as a coloring matter for foodstuffs.

In 1980 the Consumer Protection Act (15) required manufacturers to take reasonable steps to ensure that fabric -soft infill composites of domestic furniture resisted the cigarette test of BS5852 Part 1. These regulations did not apply to rouchings, trims to seat platforms etc. but only to the primary upholstery composites.
