At the beginning of 1992, the largest Hquids pipelines in the United States, based on pipeline length, were Amoco Pipeline Co., 19,096 km Mobil Pipe Line Co., 15,026 km Exxon Pipeline Co., 14,983 km and Conoco Pipe Line Co., 12,980 km. Distances do not include 1316 km of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline with multiple ownership. In both 1991 and 1992, the product pipeline company with the most product deHveries was Colonial Pipeline with 104,990,000 m, more than double the amount deHvered by Santa Ee Pacific Pipelines, Inc. The top pipeline in terms of cmde oil deHveries was the Alyeska Pipeline Service Co., operator of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System, with movement of 105,735,000 m (3). [Pg.47]

Conoco operated a stirred tank Pfaudler glass-lined reactor for the batch SO sulfonation of detergent alkylate. The plant utilized over-the-fence SO converter gas (8% SO ia dry air) having h batch cycles (264). AHied Chemical Company provided details for batch SO sulfonation (265,266)... [Pg.86]

The shrinkage in demand has resulted in a restmcturing of the carbon black-industry. Several of the principal multinational oil companies have left the business including Ashland, Cities Service Co., Phillips, and Conoco. Some plants have changed ownership. In the United States this has increased the production capacities of Degussa, Sid Richardson, and Huber. Today s U.S. industry consists of six principal producers. Rated capacities of the six U.S. manufacturers is shown in Table 13. Cabot Corp. and Columbian Chemicals are the leading producers, followed by Degussa, Sid Richardson, J. M. Huber Corp., and Witco. A survey of the future markets and present stmcture of the carbon black industry has been presented (1). [Pg.554]

Another of the six CEBC technologies, the multisohd fluidized-bed combustor (MSEBC), has been under development by BatteUe Memorial Institute since 1974 (48). In an MSEBC a CEBC is superimposed on an AEBC in the combustor section. An early 15 MWt commercial version of MSEBC was designed and constmcted by Stmthers Thermo-Flood Corp. for Conoco. [Pg.260]

New Mexico s San Juan Gas Plant is one of the United States newest and largest natural gas liquids recovery plant. Commissioned in November 1986, its levels of productivity are high by industry standards. Located near Bloomfield, New Mexico, just south of tlie Colorado border, the plant is jointly owned by Conoco Inc. (then a subsidiary of the DuPont Company) and Tenneco Inc., both of Houston. It is operated by Conoco and is named after its location in the San Juan basin, an area of oil, gas, and coal production. [Pg.440]

The best scientific study comparing the LWD logs with the wireline logs has been done in the framework of a project sponsored by the oil and service companies in Conoco test facility, Kay County, Oklahoma in 1990. [Pg.1077]

Before the individual pieces of equipment are started, they should be checked out. Conoco, as part of its prestartup procedure, sent observers to the manufacturer s plant to observe the fabrication and to test the equipment before it was shipped. They found, among other things, at least 5 pumps with defective seals. These errors were corrected by the vendor before the items were shipped. This checking was in addition to checks performed during the construction phase. [Pg.365]

In order to overcome these problems, the flow schemes as shown in Figures 1 and 2 were developed. These incorporate the use of Kerr-McGee Corporation s Critical Solvent Deashing and Fractionation Process (CSD) for recovery of the SRC. The Kerr-McGee Process adds extra flexibility since this process can recover heavy solvent for recycle, which is not recoverable by vacuum distillation. EPRI contracted with Conoco Coal Development Company (CCDC) and Kerr-McGee Corporation in 1977-1978 to test these process concepts on continuous bench-scale units. A complementary effort would be made at the Wilsonville Pilot Plant under joint sponsorship by EPRI, DOE, and Kerr-McGee Corporation. This paper presents some of the initial findings. [Pg.192]

Major work on zinc chloride catalysts for hydrogenation and hydrocracking of coal has been carried out by Zielke, Gorin, Struck and coworers at Consolidation Coal (now Conoco Coal Development Co.) (1). The emphasis there has been on a full boiling-point range of liquid product, from treatment at temperatures between 385 and 425°C and hydrogen pressures of 140 to 200 bars. [Pg.226]
