This work was supported by grants (No. 12292 and 13124) to N.L.Y. through the PSC-BHE Award Program. This paper is based on J. Liutkus doctoral dissertation submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy at the Graduate School, C.U.N.Y. [Pg.47]

The DuPont Company has also instituted a corporate Environmental Excellence Award program. Of the typical 550 submissions per year, approximately 70 pass the first screening and 12 are finally selected as winners. For the years 1994-1996, more than 200 million per year positive return and 320 million in avoided capital expenditures was realized for the 210 programs that passed the first screening. [Pg.433]

One of the principal elements of Green Zia that will be the focus of this paper is the third-party assessment and feedback report process. Like our Baldrige brethren at both the national level and at the state Quality Award Program level, Green Zia employs a number of volunteers to read applications that are submitted to our state Environment Department, provide nonprescriptive feedback on strengths and opportunities for improvement, determine a score for the application based on a 1000-point scale, and possibly conduct a site visit to verify/clarify the application. This paper will describe all aspects of the third-party examination process and will provide some personal insight as to the strengths and opportunities for improvement of our own process. [Pg.281]

Baldrige Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award Program,... [Pg.492]

Work carried out in the authors laboratory has been generously supported by- the National Institutes of Health and the City University Faculty Research Awards Program (BHE—PSC). [Pg.32]

The guidelines and regulations cited so far have focused on process safety. However, certification and award programs such as the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Standard 9002, "Quality Systems— Model for Quality Assurance in Production and Installation," place heavy emphasis on quality management. Written procedures and document control are important factors for ensuring and maintaining quality, reliability, and consistency. [Pg.15]

The support of our research in SECM by grants from the Petroleum Research Fund administrated by the American Chemical Society and PSC-CUNY Research Award Program is gratefully acknowledged. [Pg.193]
