Sepa.ra.tlon, Sodium carbonate (soda ash) is recovered from a brine by first contacting the brine with carbon dioxide to form sodium bicarbonate. Sodium bicarbonate has a lower solubiUty than sodium carbonate, and it can be readily crystallized.
