Assembly schedule

In order to prevent these undesirable effects, an effort must be made to smooth out the production quantities of each item in the final assembly schedule and then keep that schedule fixed for at least some period of time. Smoothing the production schedule minimizes variation in the quantities of parts needed and enables the preceding processes to produce each part efficiently at a constant speed per hour or per day. [Pg.546]

Chen CLP (1990) AND/OR precedence constraint traveling salesman problem and its application to assembly schedule generation. In Proceedings of IEEE international conference on systems, man and cybernetics, Los Angeles, CA, USA, 4—7 November 1990, pp 560-562... [Pg.79]

If the factory being scheduled is an assembly factory, then the MPS is the Final Assembly Schedule (FAS). This creates the sequence in which work will come down the production line. [Pg.127]

Final assembly schedule (FAS)—A schedule of end items to finish the product for specific customers orders in a make-to-order or assemble-to-order environment. It is also referred to as the finishing schedule because it may involve operations other than just the final assembly also, it may not involve assembly, but simply final mixing, cutting, packaging, etc. The FAS is prepared after receipt of a customer order as constrained by the availability of material and capacity, and it schedules the operations required to complete the product from the level where it is stocked (or master scheduled) to the end-item level. [Pg.127]

Flow scheduling - materials are kept moving in line with the direction of a factory assembly schedule. [Pg.174]

For the assembly of the components it is important to adhere to the assembly schedule established by the site manager in the mn-up. Therefore, the site manager has to call off the components from the respective subcontractor and have them transported to the site. [Pg.167]

In 2010, Toyota decided to build a supply chain campus at a new location that would include its ten major suppliers. Toyota was motivated by two factors reducing its logistics cost of doing business with its supplier, and ensuring just-in-sequence deliveries from suppliers (the final assembly schedule is sent to the supplier via EDI, shortly before the actual need for the item). [Pg.85]

In the design of the container, factors being considered are fuel assembly size, weight, enrichment, amount of bumup, and age. Production of canisters must fit the schedule of fuel acceptance (18). [Pg.230]

Local repair of delamination originally caused by non-durable surface treatment is only temporarily successful at best. The surface treatment on the unrepaired portion of the assembly remains susceptible to attack and the area of delamination will likely continue to grow once the assembly is put back into service and exposed to moist conditions. Replacement or complete remanufacture of the component is the only way to permanently address this type of damage. However, time-limited repairs using bonded or mechanical methods can be used to extend the life of the component until a major overhaul is scheduled. In some cases such as widespread disbond of fuselage doublers, mechanical repairs (rivets and fastened doublers) and continued inspection are used to extend the life of the skin indefinitely because of the high cost of replacement. [Pg.1173]

Because of the porous material in the raw plate, both substances are produced in a spongy state with a porosity of about 50 vol%. Tank formation takes between 8 and 48 h, depending on the plate thickness and formation schedule. When the formation process is finished, the plates are washed and dried. They can be stored and later assembled in batteries. [Pg.168]

Lap-joint flanges, Figure 13.33c are used for piped work. They are economical when used with expensive alloy pipe, such as stainless steel, as the flange can be made from inexpensive carbon steel. Usually a short lapped nozzle is welded to the pipe, but with some schedules of pipe the lap can be formed on the pipe itself, and this will give a cheap method of pipe assembly. [Pg.859]

It is possible to implement the Scheduler without a Session class and without unique and distinct objects for each session such an approach would be quite common when you re assembling existing implementation components or legacy systems, such as a calendar (with events) and an employee database (with employees). When designing, some people like to distinguish those types they have decided to implement—design types— from those that are used simply to help write a specification—spec types. Design types can be drawn with a heavier border. [Pg.148]

At the request of the DoD s Program Manager for Assembled Chemical Weapons Assessment (PMACWA), the NRC Committee on Review and Evaluation of Alternative Technologies for Demilitarization of Assembled Chemical Weapons will provide independent scientific and technical assessment of the Assembled Chemical Weapons Assessment (ACWA) program. This effort will be divided into three tasks. In each case, the NRC was asked to perform a technical assessment that did not include programmatic (cost and schedule) considerations. [Pg.41]

Section 8(2) of the Medicines Act 1968 requires those involved in the manufacture or assembly of a medicinal product to hold a manufacturer s licence. In fact. Schedule 1 to 1994 Regulations requires the manufacturer/assembler in the United Kingdom of an unlicensed product for particular patient supply to hold a particular type of manufacturer s licence (a manufacturer s special licence). It should also be noted that Section 23 of the act prohibits the manufacture of a medicinal product unless that product has a marketing authorisation, or is exempt from the marketing authorisation requirement. [Pg.386]

Preparation In preparing for an audit, all data and documentation for the study are assembled for the inspectors to view (Figure 8.3). The study director, or other designated technical contact, should review the files and prepare to answer any questions. The master schedule and all files assembled by the quality assurance unit should be reviewed. An agenda, a work space, and a test facility floor plan should be prepared for the inspectors. The staff should be fully briefed and prepared for the visit. [Pg.76]

It has been a privilege to compile this volume. We have first of all to acknowledge the invited contributors for the timeliness of their contributions despite the tightness of the schedule, they have done their best to assemble all the published information relevant to their assigned topics and to discuss all aspects exhaustively. Thanks are also due to Dr. Hike Maase, Dr. Steffen Pauly, and Dr. Andreas Sendtko of Wiley-VCH Publishers for their invitation and for their painstaking technical editorial support... [Pg.325]

Flow assemblies are becoming more common as an arrangement for housing pH electrodes, conductivity cells, and chemical injection ports. Typically they are constructed of plastic materials, such as Schedule 80 PVC or glass-filled polypropylene. [Pg.358]
