Due to the methods and limitations outlined in Section 11.3..3, in thermal comfort analysis, draft risk evaluations cannot be performed using this type of room model. Analysis of air temperature stratification and thermal comfort for the occupant zone can be achieved only by using multi-air-node room models. 

Carbon dioxide, considered a wanning gas, comprises about 0.036 percent of the atmosphere by volume. As Figure 1 shows, carbon dioxide levels have increased as a component of the atmosphere by nearly 30 percent from the late eighteenth century to the end of the twentieth century, when the level was close to 365 parts per million by volume. Prior to the period of industrialization, carbon dioxide levels were largely stable, at about 280 parts per million, though fluctuations as low as 200 parts per million or as high as 300 parts per million have been observed through analysis of air bubbles trapped in arctic ice cores. 

Many industrial processes give rise to pollutants which can present a health problem. Quantitative analysis of air, water, and in some cases soil samples, must be carried out to determine the level of pollution, and also to establish safe limits for pollutants.

Harrison and coworkers noted unusually high ratios of alkyl to total lead in the atmosphere at several UK rural sites60,61. Normally the ratio is about 0.5-8.0%, but in these cases a maximum of 33% was found. Analysis of air-mass trajectories revealed that these elevated ratios were associated with air that had passed over the open sea and estuarine and coastal areas.

When an analyte is fluorescent, direct fluorometric detection is possible by means of a spectrofluorometer operating at appropriate excitation and observation wavelengths. This is the case for aromatic hydrocarbons (e.g. in crude oils), proteins (e.g. in blood serum, in cow milk), some drugs (e.g. morphine), chlorophylls, etc. Numerous fields of applications have been reported analysis of air and water pollutants, oils, foods, drugs monitoring of industrial processes monitoring of species of clinical relevance criminology etc. 

Collection Filters. The cotton-dust analyzer requires 20.3-cm X 25.4-cm glass-fiber filters for collection of dust particles. These filters are binder-free and specially designed for gravimetric analysis of air pollutants. The filters are rated at 99.9%...

Treshow has developed the thesis that foliar injury is a useful criterion in the identification and analysis of air pollution effects on vegetation and presented some basic concepts for use in field evaluation. 

The second approach laboratory analysis of air and/or soil samples (note the air sample can be obtained by gas samphng bag, filter, sorbent, and wet-contaminant collection methods). 

Over 1000 articles dealing with atomic absorption are published each year making a truly comprehensive review a difficult task. What the authors have chosen to do is to discuss the recent advances in instrumentation and technique of particular interest to those persons involved in the analysis of air and water samples for trace metal toxins.

However, 2,3-benzofuran was detected in emissions from a Swedish floor finish used on domestic flooring (van Netten et al. 1988), and in emissions from the pyrolysis of silk (Junk and Ford 1980), and in combustor flue gas emissions from fluidized-bed coal combustion at a concentration of 900 ng/g (Hunt et al. 1982).
