CrossFire Beilstein is available to subscribers as part of the CrossFire Database Suite. This package consists of CrossFire Beilstein, CrossFire Gmelin, and Patent Chemistry Database. Since January 2009, the contents of these three databases have been merged and are accessible through a new web-based interface, Reaxys (Table 1.4). [Pg.15]

For submission of the sampling protocols by the participants, a server has been prepared and established at the ICTP network, providing a web-based interface to the project database. Also all necessary information for the participants was offered via this system. The system was found to work in a satisfactory and robust manner, also as an example for possible arrangements for future exercises. In this frame ... [Pg.212]

Direct order entry, or electronic prescribing, is not limited to the inpatient setting. Electronic prescribing encompasses till computer-driven automated processes used to write a prescription for a patient. Within the past few years, technological advances have allowed electronic prescribing to be performed in an ambulatory setting. This process is executed in many ways. Early versions of electronic prescribing devices consisted of a stand-alone computer terminal located at fixed points in physicians offices. These fixed terminals have expanded to use Internet web-based interfaces to access patient level information from a health plan, write prescriptions, and send prescriptions to a pharmacy to be filled. [Pg.326]

Pathway Commons (http //www.pathwaycommons.org) is a freely available database that collects, normalizes, and integrates publicly available biological pathway and molecular interaction data about cellular processes. It is a collection of publicly available pathway data from multiple organisms. Pathway Commons provides a Web-based interface that enables biologists to browse and search a comprehensive collection of pathways from multiple sources (16). Users can ask questions such as What proteins interact with a protein under study , What pathways involve a given protein , Is a specific protein involved in transport events or biochemical reactions , or What enzymes use a specific metabolite as a substrate . [Pg.450]

Because of the flexibility and familiarity of Web browsers, Web-based applications have become very popular and powerful. There are many Web-based interfaces to RDBMS. For example, phpPgAdmin1 is a popular Web application for PostgreSQL. PhpMyAdmin2 is popular with users of MySQL. These applications allow one to connect to a chosen database server, browse the schemas and tables in the database, and enter SQL commands. The output from SQL commands, especially table output, is formatted nicely. Other operations, such as creating, altering, or dropping tables and schemas, are also provided. These use an HTML form interface, with text boxes, radio buttons, check boxes, and other form elements familiar to all uses of the Web. [Pg.38]

The primary interface to PubChem data is through the NCBI search engine, Entrez. This web-based interface is simple, yet powerful, with many features not immediately apparent to those unfamiliar with the Entrez system. This section is intended as both an introduction and a guide to the more advanced Entrez features, and the types of Entrez PubChem queries that can be performed. [Pg.221]

While giving access to all available PubChem data and functionality, interactive web-based interfaces are not particularly well suited to highly repetitive or automated tasks. Without programmatic tools, tasks such as performing specific data lookups for a large number of chemical sfructures would be fedious if not impossible to perform and a software tool that integrates with PubChem services and data would be difficult to create and maintain. With programmatic access to PubChem,... [Pg.234]

The need to establish more effective mechanisms for collaboration has become evident in our previous work under eu cost Action d9. Therefore, in parallel with further development of accurate multireference quantum chemical methods, we decided to investigate the use of web-based and internet tools for remote scientific collaboration. In the past, some of the participants have exchanged data, draft manuscripts and the like by e-mail, supplemented by occasional correspondence by post and face-to-face meetings. By exploring alternative mechanisms, in particular, real-time collaboration procedures, we aim to establish a more productive environment. This includes remote execution of computer programs, the use of web-based interfaces for remote collaboration. The intention has been to use only a publicly accessible and user-friendly software for making the expertise accumulated in this project profitable for national and international collaborations in other domains of chemistry and physics. [Pg.54]

Traditional ERP systems were client/server based and consisted of a database system, communication protocols and a user interface framework. With the advent of the Internet, vendors went to web-based interfaces. This made it possible to access the system though any web-enabled device (since no code rests... [Pg.752]

Data Management and Visualization all data collected from the calculations is then again processed to condense repeated or reusable results. These results are then compared with existing ones feeding a results history data base. All results are then presented in a web-based interface, independent of platform or operation system, where all results can be viewed on an open-source format through an open-source web plug-in in any Internet browser. [Pg.374]

Simulators are developed primarily for the procedure(s) they are designed to emulate. Surgical simulators can include animal models, cadavers, synthetic and tissue-based bench models, computer/web-based simulators, video box trainers, web-based interface simulators, VR (or computer driven) part-task trainers, VR simulators that can allow the user to mimic an entire surgical procedure (whole-task trainers), hybrid simulators... [Pg.172]
