Lissoclinotoxins A and B were active against ichthyopathogenic strains of Aeromonas salmonicida and Vibrio anguillarum, while lissoclinotoxin A also exhibited activity against resistant malaria, Plasmodium faciparum with an IC50 of 296 nM/L [21]. 

It remains unexplained why the teleost Atlantic cod (Gadus morhua) failed to acquire MHC class II system with its invariant chain, and reactive CD4 T cells. Was it never acquired in the cod lineage, or was it lost to deletion, or is the cod operating an unusually effective innate immune system Indeed, it appears fliat the cod expanded its entire innate and the MHC class 1 adaptive immune system. There is adequate response to endotoxin, and to bacterial (Aeromonas salmonicida Vibrio anguillarum) and viral (pancreas necrosis virus) pathogens [987-989].

In another study, a Vibrio alginolyticus strain used in a commercial shrimp hatchery in Ecuador was applied to Atlantic salmon by immersion for 10 min (Austin et al, 1995). Challenge experiments seven days after application of V alginolyticus revealed a reduction in mortality after exposure to A. salmonicida and to a lesser extent after exposure to V anguillarum and Vibrio ordalii. V. alginolyticus was cultured from the intestine 21 days after the initial application. 

A probiotic strain of Vibrio alginolyticus effective in reducing diseases caused by Aeromonas salmonicida, Vibrio anguillarum and Vibrio ordalii. Journal of Fish Diseases, 18, 93-96.
