Transmission principle

An unidirectional RF data transmission principle is used from the wheel to the vehicle. The RF system is designed to ensure reliable transmission of the data in a wide variety of conditions such as statistical fluctuations of reception amplitude caused by varying reception conditions at the antenna. The transmissions take place in the 433 MHz range, the so-called ISM waveband in some territories the 315 MHz waveband is used. Premium systems (Fig. 7.20.7) are able to process the data transmitted by the wheel electronics directly at the reception points by microcontrollers in the antennas. The signals are converted into a suitable data bus format and sent to the control unit by a LIN bus (local interconnect network), for example. [Pg.540]

The basic transmission principles used today for frequency modulation falls into two categories. Historically, EELS is one of the oldest spectroscopic techniques based ancillary to the transmission electron microscope. In the early 1940s the principle of atomic level excitation for light element detection capability was demonstrated by using EELS to measure C, N, and O. Unfortunately, at that time the instruments were limited by detection capabilities (film) and extremely poor vacuum levels, which caused severe contamination of the specimens. Twenty-five years later the experimental technique was revived with the advent of modern instrumentation. For many applications, quantitative band shape analysis is difficult to apply. Bands may be numerous or may overlap, the optical transmission properties of the film or host matrix may distort features, and features may be indistinct. If one can prepare samples of known properties and collect the FTIR spectra, then it is possible to produce a calibration matrix that can be used to assist in predicting these properties in unknown samples. Statistical, chemometric techniques, such as PLS (partial least-squares) and PCR (principle components of regression), may be applied to this matrix.
