Touch-ups

The stacks are moved and again separated into individual panels where they pass a grading station. Those panels requiring touch-up or repair move to the repair stations. Panels then move to the trim saws where edges are trimmed to the final desired size, normally 1220 x 2440 mm (4x8 ft.). Panels are then touch-sanded to final thickness, and pre-finished as desired. Those panels with high quaUty decorative veneer faces are usually filled, stained to the desired tone, and finished with a clear finish. 

The characteristics of interior paints that require testing and analysis include hiding and appearance, package stabiHty, adhesion, spatter resistance, flow and leveling, color and sheen uniformity, touch-up, stain removal, burnish resistance, and block and print resistance. A popular test that assesses the wet abrasion resistance of an interior paint is to measure its scmb resistance. A mechanical device is used to scmb a paint film of a specified thickness with a standard bmsh and abrasive cleanser suspension. The number of scmb cycles (back and forth movements of the weighted bmsh) at various end points (first cut through, or 50% removal of the film) is then recorded. Scmb resistance usually holds steady or decreases slightly as PVC is increased, but drops quickly once the CPVC is exceeded in a paint formulation. 

Manual painting occurs mostiy during touch-up or repair, and is best suited for piping, railings, and other hard to spray places. The conventional tools for manual apphcation are bmshes, rollers, paint pads, and paint mitts. These methods are very slow but are suitable for unskilled appHcators and allow the painter to work the coating deeply into the surface being painted. 

I touched up some of Chapter 3 by reworking the valve section, and I hope it does a better job of describing the currently available valves. 1 also expanded the area of unloaders to more adequately cover the differ ent styles available to the industry. 

Damage to prefabrication primers or even the whole film system can be caused on transport or on erection, leaving for example, bare edges. Good supervision is necessary to ensure that defective areas are conscientiously touched-up before applying further paint films. It has been recommended to disregard the coat of prefabrication primer when deciding the number of coats to be specified. ... 

The purpose of work described here is to develop a coating which can be used on naval vessels for touch up purposes while a ship is underway. Radiation curable coatings are of special interest because of the extremely low level of volatile organic compounds emitted during curing. To be useful the coating should be Navy gray and suitable for application to cold surfaces. When used in confined spaces a further limitation is that the application should not produce ozone and for some Naval applications mercury is not... 

Fur dyes are applied in a bath of color, by rolling the dye onto the fur, stroking it on with a feather, or simply by touching up the tips of the guard hair. For batch production, the vessels most frequently used for wet treatment are paddles in which the fur skins float in long (dilute) liquors. 

Natural materials are frequently "cut" or "touched up" with synthetic materials either to standardize the quality and the analytical constants between different crops (the explanation usually given) or simply to reduce the cost. Such products, although frequently and regrettably sold as pure, are in extreme cases little more than compounds. 

The chemical systems for RIM all have one characteristic in common they require a RIM machine to convert liquid raw materials into quality plastic products. Assuming a properly formulated chemical system, the quality of the end product results from the ability to measure, control (Chapter 3), and adjust temperature, ratio, pressure, and other essential process parameters of the RIM dispensing machine. Such exacting control leads to a reduction in start-up time, minimal rejects and touch-up work, reproducible product quality, and the ability to pinpoint changes in product properties. 

After each round of shooting, bullet holes can be repaired wjfh pieces of masking tape and the lines touched up vuilh a felt pen,... 

Any metal surface can be blackened temporarily with G96 Gun Sight Black. This is a spray on dull black paint that washes off with gun solvent. Sight Black leaves no residue and won t harm the surface. It rubs off easily and must be constantly touched up. 

After final sanding, the stock is wiped down with alcohol and painted with black enamel primer. All small holes should first be filled In with plastic wood putty or body putty. Do not paint the Stock tubes or the stock will not be able to s1 de freely. It can be blackened with touch up blue or with one of the formulas on page t1, issue II. The stock tubes should have a light coat of oil to Insure smooth operation. 

I have been fully informed of the fact that the doctor cannot guarantee perfect results after the first application, and accept the possibility of having a touch-up.
