Total output

In 1990, North Carolina produced 60% of the total scrap mica the remainder was produced in Connecticut, Georgia, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and South Dakota. In 1991, the five largest producers produced 67% of the nation s total output (Table 9) (15). [Pg.292]

A number of processes have been used to produce carbon black including the oil-furnace, impingement (channel), lampblack, and the thermal decomposition of natural gas and acetjiene (3). These processes produce different grades of carbon and are referred to by the process by which they are made, eg, oil-furnace black, lampblack, thermal black, acetylene black, and channel-type impingement black. A small amount of by-product carbon from the manufacture of synthesis gas from Hquid hydrocarbons has found appHcations in electrically conductive compositions. The different grades from the various processes have certain unique characteristics, but it is now possible to produce reasonable approximations of most of these grades by the od-fumace process. Since over 95% of the total output of carbon black is produced by the od-fumace process, this article emphasizes this process. [Pg.539]

To estimate the loss within each output rectifier within a multiple output switching power supply, use the ratio of the desired output s power compared to the total output power as in Equation 3.14. [Pg.36]

From the above, the total output less generator loss is expressed by the following ... [Pg.509]

The total output is the combination of drag flow, back pressure flow and leakage. So from (4.3), (4.7) and (4.8)... [Pg.256]

Make Useful Coproducts. The success of this approach to process development is heavily dependent on the market situation but in suitable cases where there is market demand for the total output of both products such processes can be successful. Examples here are the coproduction of phenol and acetone, which is essentially noncatalytic, and the more recently developed process for the cooxidation of ethyl benzene and propylene to produce propylene oxide and styrene. [Pg.241]

Photo flash bombs and cartridges are pyro technic items which are classified with bombs (Vol 2, B229) because of their explosive effect. The various devices are similar, differing principally in size and the amount of delay. When fired, each photo flash cartridge, after 1, 2, or 4 seconds, produces a flash having a peak intensity of approx 50 million cd with a total output of 5 million cd sec, whereas photoflash bombs generate above 5 x 109 cd... [Pg.992]

The role of plastics in municipal solid waste combustion is discussed, and in particular, their fuel characteristics. Details are given of a state-of-art municipal solid waste combustor and the effects of plastics on the different combustion stages. In addition, the contribution of plastics to the total output spread over the various emission paths of solids, liquids and gases, is also assessed. [Pg.100]

The total output photovoltage must exceed the thermodynamic potential difference for water splitting (1.229 V at 25°C), the energy level mismatches for the anodic and cathodic processes, and the polarization loss or overvoltages due to kinetic, diffusion, and IR potential losses in the bulk of electrolyte. [Pg.267]

Marx therefore shows how the total output of 9,000 units can be reproduced, 6,000 units as means of production and only a third, 3,000 units, as consumption goods. In contrast to the approach taken by Adam Smith, who does not allow for means of production, a demonstration is provided of how means of production take up a significant part of the national product. [Pg.10]

Examining the elements of Table 5.1 reveals that from year 3 onwards each department, and hence the economy as a whole, expands at a balanced growth rate of 10 per cent. Total output of 11,858 in year 4, for example, represents a 10 per cent increase on the 10,780 produced in year 3. The conditions required to establish this balanced growth path will now be explored in detail. [Pg.55]

Table 6.2(b) is an algebraic representation, using Marxian categories, of the input-output table for simple reproduction. In comparison with Table 6.1, this provides a clearer and more detailed representation of simple reproduction, since the expenditure of surplus value on capitalist consumption is shown explicitly as u. Moreover, the condition of simple reproduction is embodied in the assumption that total inputs are equal to total outputs (see Sweezy 1942 162). Writing out these input-output balances explicitly,... [Pg.66]

So prominent indeed was the American work at this time CWorld War IJ and so large a proportion did it form of the total output from 1912 to near the end of the war that, if I wished to claim that my own publications exerted any real and effective influence in starting a new movement in the study of dietetics, I should have to convince myself that they helped to direct the thoughts of the Harvard and Baltimore investigators.(57)... [Pg.94]

The overall efficiency of the combined cycle is the total output work (lVi + IV2) divided by the heat input, Qi. Referring to Fig. 5.3, we have... [Pg.238]
