TOPICAL general considerations

The di-TT-methane rearrangement, being a photochemical process, is subject to all basic practical considerations important in routine photochemical work. These are well described in books dealing with this topic. General considerations which are possibly valid for classes of substrates are given in this section.

General considerations The "dolomite problem" has been one of the most intensely studied and debated topics in geology. We will describe the current state-of-the-art of the microemulsion method for the preparation of metal-based catalysts. First, some general considerations concerning the nature of a microemulsion and its relation to the preparation of particles will be given. Then, both the preparation of solid oxides and metal-supported catalysts by microemulsion will be detailed. In this chapter, we describe the current status of theoretical kinetics for chemical reactions at low temperature, i.e., from 1 to 200K. The desire to understand the chemistry of interstellar space and of low temperature planetary atmospheres provides the general motivation for studying chemical kinetics at such temperatures. For example, the chemistry of Titan s atmosphere is currently a topic of considerable interest.
