Time option

The aggregate particles are left for 6 1 h and 24 1 h and returned to the bottles filled with fresh distilled water for further rolling (6 h 15 min rolling time). Optionally, 48 h or even 72 h resting periods may be used. [Pg.135]

As with the preamplifier, the scintillation amphfier need not be of such a demanding low noise specification as would be needed for semiconductor systems. In the manufacturers catalogues, a distinction is commonly made between amplifier , suitable for low-resolution spectrometry, and spectroscopy amplifier intended for high-resolution spectrometry using semiconductor detectors. Typical simple amplifier modules provide pole-zero cancellation and automatic base line restoration. The pulse shaping time options provided are often limited on such instruments and may need to be selected internally. Because of the faster rise time of scintillation pulses, the time constants provided are usually within the range 0.2 to 2 or 3 (its. [Pg.217]

In living room, electrical appliances are chosen as 6 times 60W bulb, a 25 inch (63.5 cm) Television, a CD/DVD player, a portable stereo, surrounding sound system and a mobile phone. Total electrical energy requirement of the appliances is 1135 Watts. Usage hours of the appliances and energy consumptions according to season and time options are shown in the tables C. 1 and C.2. [Pg.74]

The EPI spectrum can be saturated for highly concentrated compounds. Hence, it is preferable to use the dynamic LIT fill time option, which prevents saturation of the linear ion trap. [Pg.137]

The s)mthesis tool will offer the designer a variety of compile-time options. As a typical example, the settings for the entity-architecture pair MUX4TOI-DATAFLOWI could be as follows ... [Pg.65]

JKFF are user-defined versions of flip flops that are compiled into the working library. The compile-time options are effectively the same as those shown in section 4.2.3 (barring specific names). [Pg.127]

The logic library name DZX should be linked to the physical DZX library to enable the two packages BIT ARITH and BIT UTILS to be accessed. Some of the compile-time options for the circuit include the following ... [Pg.146]

On the other hand, this approach has a number of advantages. Many different design options can be considered at the same time. Also, the entire design procedure can be accommodated in a computer program capable of producing designs quickly and efficiently. [Pg.13]

If the feed is dominated by the middle product (typically more than 50 percent) and the lightest product is present in small quantities (typically less than 5 percent), then the arrangement shown in Fig. 5.106 can be an attractive option. This time the light product must find its way up the column past the sidestream. Again, unless the light product is a small flow and the middle product a high flow, a... [Pg.147]

In batch process optimization, one of the principal objectives is to improve equipment utilization through reduction in dead time. This requires both structural and parameter optimization, with many options available. [Pg.252]

Not surprisingly, costs are several times higher than conventional wells. Nevertheless, overall project economics may favour ERD over other development options. For example, BP developed the offshore part of the Wytch Farm Oilfield (which is located under Poole Harbour in Dorset, UK) from an onshore location. The wells targeted the reservoir at a vertical depth of 1,500 meters with a lateral displacement of over 8,000 meters (Fig. 3.20). The alternative was to build a drilling location on an artificial island in Poole Bay. ERD probably saved a considerable amount of money and advanced first oil by several years. [Pg.51]

The timely acquisition of static and dynamic reservoir data is critical for the optimisation of development options and production operations. Reservoir data enables the description and quantification of fluid and rock properties. The amount and accuracy of the data available will determine the range of uncertainty associated with estimates made by the subsurface engineer. [Pg.125]

If you were offered 7,130 today, or 10,000 in exactly 5 years time, you should be indifferent to the options, unless you could find an alternative investment opportunity which yielded a guaranteed interest rate better than the bank (in which case you should accept the money today and take the alternative investment opportunity). [Pg.319]

The closest analogy to a project investment is to consider how much you are required to pay today for the promise of 10,000 in 5 years time. Assuming the only options are the bank or the offer, then the maximum you should be prepared to pay today is 7,130. If you are requested to pay more, then you would do better by putting the 7,130 in the bank. [Pg.319]

In high permeability reservoirs, wells may produce dry oil for a limited time following a shut-in period, during which gravity forces have segregated oil and water near the wellbore. In fields with more production potential than production capacity, wells can be alternately produced and shut in (intermittentproduction) to reduce the field water cut. This may still be an attractive option at reduced rates very late in field life, if redundant facilities can be decommissioned to reduce operating costs. [Pg.362]

Additional assistance is provided by secondary modification options that allow among others for a depiction of the original signal, the reconstruction of the depiction of the impedance plane of the eddy-current signals or for modifications of phase, amplification or zero point virtually in real time. That way, once C-scan images have been recorded, they can now be evaluated as needed without having to repeat the test. [Pg.309]

In order to allow any multiple chlorination of the biphenyl skeleton, the user may define an atom list (eonsisting of hydrogen and chlorine atoms) and substitute all H-atoms by this list. One may click on the drop-down selection box behind the element icons, select the options Generics. .set the user-defined atom to A1 and quit by the OK button. As a result this atom selection is active for the subsequent drawing steps. After this atom list is drawn ten times as the ten substituents, its composition has to be defined by clicking the A, icon on the left-hand side of the structure editor and by selecting H and Cl in the periodic table (Figure 5-16). [Pg.250]

Choose th e DIIS SCF con vergen ce accelerator to poten tially speed up SCF eon vergen ee. DIIS often reduees the number of iteration s required to reach a con vergen ec limit. However, it takes memory to store the Fock rnalriees from th c previous iteration s an d this option may increase th e com pu tation a I time for individual iteration s because th e Fock m atrix h as to be calcu la ted as a lin car corn -biriation of the current Fock matrix and Fock matrices from previous iteration s. [Pg.112]

HyperChem run s the molecular dynain ics trajectory, averaging and analyzing a trajectory and creating the Cartesian coordinates and velocities, fhe period for reporting these coordinates and velocities is th e data collection period. At-2. It is a m iiltiplc of the basic time step. At = ii At], and is also referred to as a data step. The value 1I2 is set in the Molecular Dynamics options dialog box. [Pg.318]

Once entered into a spreadsheet, data can be manipulated column at a time. For example, let us take the top cells in Table 1-3 as cells A3 and B3 (columns A and B, line 3 in Table 1-3) containing 5 and 0.305 to avoid dividing 0 by 0. Using the easycalc option of the tools menu in Excel, divide the contents of B3 by A3 and place the results in cell C3. Now select C3 and the remaining 12 unfilled cells in the column, C3 to Cl 5, and fill down using the mouse. The results of the calculation of Cp/T appear for all remaining cells in the C column. [Pg.25]

The optimization of a transition structure will be much faster using methods for which the Hessian can be analytically calculated. For methods that incrementally compute the Hessian (i.e., the Berny algorithm), it is fastest to start with a Hessian from some simpler calculation, such as a semiempirical calculation. Occasionally, dilficulties are encountered due to these simpler methods giving a poor description of the Hessian. An option to compute the initial Hessian at the desired level of theory is often available to circumvent this problem at the expense of additional CPU time. [Pg.152]
