In this system, interconnected pixels form groups and are expressed in geometrical form—hence, the values for features can represent parameters such as area, length at periphery, degree of circularity, centre of gravity, and width. 

The objective function (13) representing the total dissipation of kinetic energy of the flows at isothermal motion of fluid is proportional to the entropy production in the circuit and its transfer to the environment, i.e., proportional to the entropy accumulated by the isolated system (interconnection of the circuit and environment). System Interconnect Reliability From the standpoint of reliability, the shared memory system in the global bus both have problems in the area of single-point failures If a failure of the bus or the central memory occurs, the entire system is incapacitated A ring system, when bypass hardware is employed, demonstrates very good fault tolerant characteristics. 

System Interconnect Expandability From the standpoint of expansion limitations, the shared memory system has problems in that the number of ports are fixed. Expanders can be used to alleviate this problem to some degree, but physical construction problems are ultimately met. Also, the memory bandwidth of the shared memory system is fixed and is relatively slow, thus limiting the degree of practical expansion. 

System Interconnect Cost Performance One may obtain a measure of the cost effectiveness of the four generalized architectures by plotting the cost to throughput ratio for each architecture as a function of the number of processors in the system (Figure 3). 

One way to improve the performance of photocatalytic air-treatment reactors is to decouple between cleaning the air and degrading the pollutants. Figure 14 shows schematically such a system (Chin et al., 2006 Shiraishi et al., 2003). The system includes two independent continuous flow systems interconnected by a rotating, cylindrical ceramic honeycomb. The rotation cycles the honeycomb rotor through a low temperature zone, where adsorption takes place, and a high temperature zone where desorption takes place, thus regenerating the monolith. The International Standards Organization introduced the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model to provide a common way of describing network protocols. They put together a seven-layer model providing a relationship between the stages of communication, with each layer adding to the layer above or below it. 

Application layer The seventh, or highest, layer in the International Organization for Standardization s Open Systems Interconnection (ISO/OSI) model for computer-to-computer communications. This layer uses services provided by the lower layers, but is completely insulated from the details of the network hardware. It describes how application programs interact with the network operating system, including database management, e-mail, and terminal emulation programs.

A 100-kW reciprocating engine generating system may cost 1,500/ kW installed, while an 800-kW unit can cost l,000/kW. The engine cost is about one fourth of the total price. The rest of the cost comes from the heat recovery system, interconnect/electrical system, labor, materials, project management, construction and engineering.
