Storage equipment design

The supply of gas from storage or vaporizer to plant is usually governed down to a medium pressure of around 1.5 bar, for final reduction to 28mbar for butane or 37 mbar for propane. However, the versatility of LPG is such that plant and combustion equipment designers can, for specialized purposes, select virtually whatever pressures are most suitable for their requirements. [Pg.304]

Hazards surveys are suitable for identifying hazards associated with equipment design, layout, material storage, and so forth. They are not suitable for identifying hazards resulting from improper operation or upset conditions. On the other hand, this approach is fairly rigorous, requires little experience, is easy to apply, and provides a quick result. [Pg.445]

Ancillary equipment, designed for at least 2.5 MPa (25 bar) meters and flow controls for pressurized ammonia feed and effluent streams centrifugal pumps for discharging into liquid ammonia supply piping and for liquid ammonia loading equipment for safe pressure relief for ammonia vapor and inerts (see Fig. 118 and [1268]). Design of pressure storage tanks and the related safety aspects are discussed in [1270]. [Pg.215]

Vapor pressure data, P, of pure components are important in calculations relating to vapor-liquid phase equilibria, e.g., in the simplest case to predict the pressure in a closed vessel containing a specific liquid or mixture of liquids. P data are required for bubble point and most dew point computations. These values are used in flash calculations involving mass transfer operations. Clearly the design of pressure requirements for storage equipment requires knowledge of the vapor pressure of the components as does the design of appropriate pressure relief... [Pg.111]
